All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::WIlson & Kratzer FH--Richmond CA Ruby Jewel Boone Ruby Jewel Boone Nov. 11, 1912 - Dec. 13, 2005 Ruby Jewel Boone, flew into the arms of her Savior on December 13, 2005, surrounded by family and friends. Born to Alvin Elliot and Lillie Viola (Ray) Murphree on November 1,1912 in Pittsburg county, Oklahoma, Ruby was oldest of ten children. She leaves one brother, Kenneth C. Murphree of Richmond, and five sisters: Opal Watts, of Richmond, Pearl Bottoms, of Russellville, Arkansas, Myrtle McDonald of Dell City, Oklahoma, Lillie Cordon of Napa, and Joanne Paquette of Saratoga. She was preceded in death by June Murphree, Oral Murphree and Bobbie Cummans. In 1933 she eloped with Arthur William Boone. They were married for 57 years and had six children before her husband went to be with the Lord. Ruby is survived by three daughters, Joy Haynes of Wetumka, OK, Janice Frawley of San Pablo, and Rose Spengler of Napa. She was predeceased by daughters, Gale Dean Boone and Glenda Boone Johnson, and her son, Don C. Boone, as well as two grandsons. In 1942 Arthur and Ruby left Oklahoma to come to the Bay Area to work in the shipyards in Richmond. In 1944 they became charter members of what is now Clinton Avenue Baptist Church where they served and attended faithfully for the remainder of their lives. Ruby worked in the shipyards, in a cookie factory and at F.E. Booth fish cannery in San Francisco. In 1956 she went to work at Brookside Hospital in the Housekeeping department before the Hospital opened and worked there until she retired in 1975. Ruby leaves 14 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, sisters in law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Her kind and gentle ways and sweet smile will be sorely missed. Visitation will be at the Wilson & Kratzer Civic Center Chapel, Friday, Dec. 16, from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. Funeral services will begin the following day, Dec. 17, at 10:00 am, with a reception afterwards at Clinton Ave. Baptist Church, 3015 Clinton Ave., Richmond, (510) 232-2033.
