The deceased was in his 71st year. He came to Hartshorne from Eufaula twenty odd years ago, and hence was reckoned among the oldest residents. He was a native of the state of Maine. When the war broke out between the states he enlisted with company I 3rd regiment, Maryland calvary, serving through the campaign. Death was caused by rheumatism superinduced by asthma, with which afflictions he had suffered for many years, and had been an invalid for about a year. He is survived by the widow and five children, three boys and two girls. The funeral services were held from the residence Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Father Davlin. Interment took place in the city cemetery. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Pittsburg County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/pittsburg/pittsburg.htm
