Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Memorials: may be made to the mission fund at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 West 5th St., Fort Worth 76102; or Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth 76107. Carolyn was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Hartshorne, Okla., to Mabel Stewart Doss and Oliver H. Doss. The family moved to Eastland in 1925, where she grew up and married James H. Birmingham Aug. 10, 1940. They later moved to Sweetwater, where they resided for 20 years. Carolyn's greatest joy was her family. She loved her family, her church and her many friends. She delighted in sewing, knitting and playing bridge. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. One of her favorite interests was the Service Day Projects of the United Methodist Women. She contributed many knitted caps for premature babies and little gowns that were given to the needy through local hospitals. Survivors: Husband of 64 years, James H. Birmingham; sons, James Birmingham Jr. and wife, Rosari and Joseph Birmingham and wife, Evelyn; grandsons, Brian and Jim Birmingham, Michael Birmingham and wife, Diana and Mark Birmingham and wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Alicia Birmingham; and great-grandchildren, Bailey and Ruby Birmingham.
