All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Brians, Lavern Lube "Vern" Lavern "Vern" Lube Brians, 81, of Paradise passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 in Paradise Hospice House. Vern was born August 22, 1925 near Dow, Oklahoma the son of Lube and Beulah Brians. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and earned a Purple Heart while serving in New Guinea and the Philippines. Once discharged, he settled in Bakersfield where he met Alta Leigh Hawthorne, whom he shortly married. He worked as a master carpenter for 30 years in the Bakersfield area and moved to Paradise in 1978 after his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Alta Brians, 2 sons; Randall Brians of Bakersfield and Jeff Brians of Fresno, a daughter; Carolyn Craig of Oklahoma City, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister Alma Freeman of Texas and a brother; Sam Brians of California. A celebration of Vern's life will be Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Paradise Alliance Church. All are welcome.
