The Quinton Times, Friday, June 1, 1917 "Tom Conley Held"

Tom Conley, charged with killing Jack Cooper while working on a F.S. & W.
section, April 28, and who was arrested last week, was brought over from
McAlester and given a preliminary before Justice Sam Box Wednesday. Conley was
held to await the action of the grand jury. County Attorney Carl Monk
represented the state and W.H. Scott the defendant.
