All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Oak Hill Cemetery--McAlester OK JC Irons Jr. JC “Papa” Irons, 73, of Norman, died Monday, April 30, 2007. Memorial services will be at 10 Saturday at Living Waters Lighthouse, 4500 SE 89th Street, Oklahoma City. Graveside services at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Also known as Daddy, Papa, Paw Paw, Jr and “Mr. JC,” he was born June 16, 1933, in Columbus, Miss., to JC Irons and Bessie Lou Shelton. He served in the United States Army from Dec. 1, 1953 to Dec. 17, 1956 and the United States Air force from Dec. 18, 1956 to Aug. 1, 1958. He ran his own construction company for many years. He left his mark of craftsmanship from Texas to Georgia. He was known as the best concrete man in the business. His greatest accomplishment was his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife and partner, Mattie Irons; five daughters, Sotora, Brenda, Lily, Angela, and Angelica. Also, seven sons, James, Maurice, JC III, Steven, Bradley, Daryl, and Broderick; 36 grandchildren; four brothers, George, Quincy, Freddie, and AD, and three sisters, Doris, Ann, Nancy.
