Knox, 73, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lafferty & Smith Colonial Chapel in Santa Rosa. Burial will be at Napa Valley Memorial Park. She died Friday at her Santa Rosa home after battling cancer for 20 years. Born in Missouri, she grew up in Quinton, Okla., before her family moved to Yountville when she was 18. She had lived in Santa Rosa since 1949 and worked at an apple cannery in Sebastopol from 1958 to 1979. She was active in the Fulton Senior Citizens Group. Knox is survived by her husband of 33 years, James "Ed" Knox of Santa Rosa; her children, Bill Broyles of Windsor, Charles Broyles of San Mateo, Deanna Johnston of Eugene, Ore., Ron Broyles of Napa and Linda Nelson of Rohnert Park; a sister, Mary Hodges of Anderson; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. "She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother," said Johnston. "She loved her kids -- all of them."
