Born in McAlester, Okla., she was a longtime Mid-Valley resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Gridley. Also, she was a member of the Lyman Vernon Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Rebekahs and the Garden Club of Gridley, and a former member of the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Arvil Knox of Gridley; a son, Byron “Sonny” Knox of Gridley; a brother, Jackie Gray of McAlester, Okla.; two sisters, Mollie Myers and Bessie Barnes, both of McAlester, Okla.; four grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church and left in care of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel in Gridley. Services: A graveside service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Highway 99, Gridley.
