Sternenberg zapot54@yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kerns, Arizona Mae - June 2, 1993 Arizona (Zonie) Mae Kerns, 75, of Indianola, died Friday at McAlester Regional Health Center. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at North Mt. Homa Church at Ulan with Rev. Gerald Kerns officiating, assisted by Rev. W.A. Bittle. Interment will be at Ulan Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Her grandsons, Dwayne, Joe Dale, and Terry Romine, Brett Weeks, T. David and Randy Kerns, and Sean Carney, will serve as pallbearers. Jerry Cox, Randy Crone, Linda Weaver, Nancy Sparks, Danny, David, Herman Cletus, Glen Dale and Charles Allen Kerns will serve as honorary pallbearers. The daughter of Jim and Ella Mae Tompkins Mason, she was born Oct. 2, 1917 in Dover, Ark. She moved to this area in 1920 and married Buel Kerns on March 19, 1939 at Indianola. She was very involved with the North Mt. Homa Church, hekped with all the congregational activities, and was mother of the church. Survivors include her husband, Buel Kerns of the home; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Gerald and Wilma Kerns, Dwight L. and Evelyn Kerns, Joel and Darcy Kerns, all of Indianola, Thurrell Kerns of Dallas, Texas, and Ricky and Pam Kerns of Arpelar; five daughters and sons-in-law, Naomi and Ronnie Romine, Darlene and Larry Romine, Gloria and Calvin Carney, Gale and Ronnie Snow, all of Indianola, and Kay and Lynn Weeks of McAlester; three brothers, Jesse Mason of Indianola, Robert Mason of Inola, and Jerry Don Mason of McAlester; three sisters, Bobbie Scott of Tulia, Texas, Ruth Sennett and Zettie Mae Sennett, both of McAlester; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and her church family.
