Kerns, Reece - 1982
 
Reece Kerns, 68 of 3229 North Pine, died in a McAlester hospital Sunday.
He was pastor of the Christian Fellowship Church. 

He was born January 9, 1914 at Dover, Ark. and had lived in the Scipio 
and Indianola area for 62 years. He had been pastor at North Mount Homa
and at Revival Center Church in Kiowa.
 
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at North Mount Homa 
Church. Rev. Earl Richey will officiate. Burial will be at Ulan cemetery
under the direction of Mills Funeral Home.
 
Kerns married Ruth Scott in 1948 at North Mount Homa. She survives him. 
Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Ruth Foutch of Oklahoma 
City, and Paula Maurice Majer of McAlester; two brothers, Buel and Merl
Kerns, both of Indianola and one sister Mattie Cox of Hanna, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 
Pallbearers will be H. C. Kerns, Glen Kerns, Dwight Kerns, Thurrell 
Kerns, Charlie Kerns, Gerald Kerns.  Honorary pallbearers are Davis 
Kerns, Mike Ford, Steve Ford, Buddy Blevins, Ronnie Romine, Larry 
Romine, Joe Kerns, Ricky Kerns, T. M. Hubbard, Marshall Rogers, Mike 
Blevins and Hudie Lee.
