All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Quinton Times, Friday, June 22, 1917 "Mother of Mrs. Moss Dies" Mrs. Catharine McDonald Mrs. Catharine McDonald, 83, mother of Mrs. H.V. Moss of this place, died last Friday night at the home of her son, A.L. McDonald, on Ash Creek, 4 miles south of Featherston. Burial Saturday afternoon at Hoyt, 15 miles north of Quinton. Funeral services were held at the grave by Rev. J.A. Grimes. The Eastern Star Lodge at Enterprise, of which she was a member, had charge of the funeral. They were assisted by members from the lodges at Quinton, Brooken and Hoyt. She became a christian early in life and was a member of the M.E. Church, South. She was married at the age of 17 to A.J. McDonald. Her husband and three other children preceded her to the other world. She leaves nine children, the names being given in rotation, the oldest first; Mrs. Elzira O'Neal Beeneville, Ark., T.C. McDonald, Talihina, Mrs. Susie Mullins Salt Lake City, Utah. A.G. McDonald, and Mrs. Alzada McCaslin, Selma, Calif., J.H. McDonald Comanche, Texas, Mrs. Tabitha Graham, Sugar Grove, Ark., Mrs. H.V. Moss Quinton, A.L. McDonald, Featherston. She had been a cripple for many years from injuries received in a fall. The exact hour of her death is not known, as she was found dead in her bed Saturday morning. She was a good, kind christian old mother and had many friends wherever known.
