Born January 6, 1929, in Dow, OK, to Alvin and Ethel Pigg. She graduated from Haileyville High and attended Eastern Oklahoma A & M College. In 1950, she moved to Oklahoma City where she married Jess R. McCloud in 1954. Betty is survived by her husband Jess McCloud and three children, Sharon and Zachary Mabrey of Atlanta, GA, Susie and Michael Murray of Midland, TX, and John and Cindy McCloud of Blanchard, OK. Five grandchildren, Josh Beddo, Jeff Beddo, Jason Murray, Tiffannie McCloud and Zackery McCloud, and two great grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters, Clyde and Ila Pigg of McAlester, OK, Bob and Mona Rae Pigg of Mustang, OK, Thelma Powell of Sadler, TX, Lorene Gunter of Merced, CA, Wanda and Leon Reed of Norman, OK and Mary Lee Wilkerson of Moore, OK. Ten nieces and nephews and three lifetime friends, Betty Oden of Midwest City, OK, Evelyn Burns of Dow, OK and Elgiva Lisle, of Ft. Smith, AR. Betty was a former member of Eastern Star, member of the First United Methodist Church of Moore, OK for over forty years, former Sunday School teacher and Blue Bird Leader. She loved to play golf and greatly enjoyed the tournament days with the Midwest City ladies golf association. The family wishes to offer special thanks to the Crusaders Sunday School class for their special support and also wants to thank all those from Frontier Hospice for their compassionate care over the last ten months. Service will be held 11:00AM, Wed., November 10, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church, 201 West Main, Moore, OK with burial at Moore City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 West Main, Moore, OK 73160.
