(Curt) CURTIS L. (CURT) MOTE APRIL 7, 1924 - JULY 15, 2006 Curtis Lee Curt Mote, native of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away July 15, 2006; at Doctors Hospital, Modesto. A WWII combat veteran, Curt was assigned to the U.S. Army's 83rd Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Medical Detachment, of General Patton's 3rd Army. He proudly and courageously served his country while providing medical assistance to wounded and dying comrades on the front lines ~ from Omaha Beach in Normandy through France, Belgium, Battle of the Bulge, into Germany to the steps of Berlin. Commendations included a Purple Heart Medal and Bronze Star Medal for valor. Member of American Legion Post 74. Resident of Modesto since 1952. Survived by devoted wife of 64 years, Jeri Mote of the home; son Wayne Mote, grandsons Doug Mote and Paul Mote and families, all of Modesto vicinity; brothers and families: Albert Mote, Oakhurst; Bob Mote, Redding; and JR Mote, Eugene, Oregon. Also survived by sister Audrey Mouer of Modesto, one stepbrother and four stepsisters in Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. His passing leaves an everlasting void in all of our hearts. Private graveside military service has been held; arrangements entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.
