McCLENAHAN, Doris R., September 27, 1928-March 24, 2007. Doris R. McClenahan, 78, of Tucson, entered into rest March 24, 2007 after a short illness. Mrs. McClenahan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Malcolm McClenahan, in 2002. Survivors include her two sons, Trace McClenahan of Scottsdale and Marc McClenahan of Chandler. She is also survived by two sisters, Carole Harrington of Brighton, Colorado and Lillian Buchanan of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews. Born in Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. McClenahan grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma; she married then-Lt. McClenahan in January, 1951. Col. McClenahan's Air Force career took the couple all over the United States, and Doris was involved in numerous activities with Officers Wives Clubs and various charitable activities in addition to raising her sons and being a wonderful life partner to her husband. In 1979, Doris was hired by the City of Tucson in a secretarial capacity and eventually rising to become head of the City Prosecutor's clerical staff. After retirement, Doris and Malcolm devoted their time to traveling the world with family and friends; their neighborhood parties in Rolling Hills were legendary for the fun and frivolity they provided, and the couple leaves behind countless friends. With sadness, we say goodbye to our mother, who touched so many lives in so many ways; but we rejoice in her reunion with our dad, with whom she had a bond that serves as an example to all of us of what life can be in a loving marriage. No services are planned. Donations in Mrs. McClenahan's memory may be made to Casa de Los Ninos or the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Published in the Tucson on 3/28/2007. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Pittsburg County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/pittsburg/pittsburg.htm
