He was born on October 23, 1922 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Adern and Alta Estes Mefford. He married Jean Spencer on January 16, 1943 in Salt Lake City. He served in the Signal Corps of the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Petroleum Equipment Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. He is survived by his daughter, Anne (Don) Carpenter; son, Allan (Karen) Mefford; three grandsons, two great-grandsons and a special friend Aubrey. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean. Graveside services will be held on June 16, 2007 at Noon at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
