O'Kelley T.H. O'Kelley died at his home in McAlester Friday, March 31, at the ripe age of 80 years. He first saw the light of day in the state of Georgia, near Atlanta in 1842. He ran away at the age of 19 to cast in his lot with the Confederate forces and followed the flag of the lost cause through the entire campaign. He was married to Miss Mary A. Benham, in Gonzales, Texas, February 11, 1869. Five children were born to this union - three sons and two daughters, all of whom along with his wife, survive him whose names are as follows: C.D. and R.D. O'Kelley, McAlester, T.H. O'Kelley, Hartshorne; Mrs. J.T. Weatherman, N. McAlester; Mrs. Fred Brandenburg, Carley, Ark. The O'Kelleys are among the first settlers of hartshorne, removing here in 1897.
