All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Hartshorne Sun,Thursday,February 23,1922 "An Aged Citizen Called To Reward" Mrs. Susan Phillips In the passing of Mrs. Susan Ann Phillips at her home in Haileyville, Friday, February 17, there passes from this stage of action one not only ripe in years, but of a beautifully spent life, hallowed by deeds of loving kindness. Was born August 29, 1847, died February 17, 1922, and hence her age was 74 years five months and 19 days. Mrs. Phillips was a native of Tennessee, uniting with Bethuel Methodist Church, Kerrville, Tenn., early in her childhood and lived a consistent and devoted christian all the days of her life. October 27, 1867 she was married to J.J. Phillips, seven children being born to this union, six of whom survive her and were present at the final hour, who are as follows: W.R. Phillips, Drumright, Okla; Mrs. E.P. Bartlett, Mrs. J.L. Schoolfield, Frank Phillips, Haileyville; Joe Phillips, Alderson and Gary Phillips, Hartshorne. The funeral services in her honor were held at the residence in Haileyville, conducted by Rev. Harry Cox, pastor of the Hartshorne Presbyterian Church. The Hymns were rendered by a quartette composed of Mrs. C.M. Field, Mrs. Ed Jolly, Mrs. J.M. Jarvis and Mrs. O.R.
