All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Retz, Gilbert Wilson 1924 - 2005 Gilbert Wilson Retz, 81, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Marshall. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Friday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park of Kennedale. "Gil," a longtime resident and retired insurance executive, was born in McAlister, Okla., on March 8, 1924. While he was a senior at Texas A&M, Gil was called to active duty with the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After the war, he returned to Fort Worth and entered the insurance business and retired after 45 years. He was an avid sportsman who liked hunting and fishing. Gil coached and sponsored teams in Westside Lions Little League as well. He was a 32nd- degree Mason and member of the Moslah Temple Shrine Patrol. Gil was a member of numerous organizations and boards. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Diane V. Retz. Survivors: Wife, Ladelle; sons, Mike and wife, Ofelia, and Jim and wife, Mady; grandsons, Chad, Zach, Brady and Cody; stepsons, Kenneth and Ronnie; stepdaughter, Brenda; six stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat- grandchildren.
