All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Springfield Memorial Gardens--Springfield OR Oregon Register Guard Wednesday, November 22, 2006 Jack Scales SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Market Street Chapel in Springfield for Jack Donald Scales of Springfield, who died Nov. 19 of Alzheimer's disease at age 79. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Scales was born March 14, 1927, in McAlester, Okla., to Alpha and Ruby Davis Scales. He married Dorothy Morgan on March 7, 1953, in Idabel, Okla. He served in the Navy during World War II. Scales worked in the science department at Lane Community College, teaching physics there for 20 years. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marianne Barker of Springfield, Suzanne Ashman of Henderson, Nev., and Janelle Loucks of Magnolia, Texas; two sons, Scott of Round Rock, Texas, and Donald of Medford; a half-sister, Catherine Nelms of Krebs, Okla.; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, James, died May 30, 1995. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
