Tapp WAURIKA — Word has been received of the death of Charles J. Tapp, 66, Waurika. Mr. Tapp died Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Waurika. He was born Dec. 16, 1936, in McAlester to Robert Allen and Muriel Alice Hamilton Tapp. He grew up in Little Rock, Ark., and then later moved back to McAlester where he graduated from McAlester High School. He was a member of the United States Army and later served in the National Guard from March 29, 1954, to Feb. 16, 1963, when he received an honorable discharge. He married Janice Houston in 1958 in Waurika. She died on Dec. 28, 1999. He graduated college with a degree in art. He was a member of Trinity Holiness, Waurika. Survivors include a son, Ivan Tapp, Waurika; two daughters: Tammy VanScoy, Duncan; and Dana Burton and her husband, Bobby, Waurika; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
