Willa B. Truitt, 78, left this earth to go home to be with her Savior on 10/2/03. She was born on 5/1/25 in Holcomb, MO to William and Laura Rollins. Willa attended Holcomb Schools for 12 years, and married her husband of 39 years, Alton 'Tag' Truitt, in 1944. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1955, and Willa just recently moved to McAlester, Okla. a few months ago. Willa worked at Glen's Hick'ry Pit for 20 years as a cashier and caterer, and then worked at Western Oaks Elementary school in the cafeteria for 15 years, before retiring. Willa loved working in her word book, bowling, square dancing, playing bingo, and spoiling her family and her beloved dog, Rowdy. Goulash and beans, favorite cakes, and banana pudding were her trademarks. She always had them ready for family when they came to visit. We will miss her gentleness, her smile, her wise advice, and her great sense of humor.
