Colbert Cemetery _________________________________________________________________ This cemetery was located in T-2-N, R-6-E, Sec. 12 on the south side of theEbey Ranch. A beautifully carved stone was found by Mr. Bill Tinsley. It was lying flat on the ground. Colbert, H.---January 15, 1840-January 26, 1913 This was Humphrey Colbert, son of Winchester Colbert; thus indicating that this is the cemetery where Winchester Colbert was buried, because the "story" is that Humphrey asked to be buried beside his father. The "story" also says that someone bulldozed the tombs off the location and poured cement over them. Colbert, Dougherty (Winchester)---1810, Cotton Gin Port, Monroe County, Mississippi----Fall, 1880. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
