It is on the Frisco Railroad) I like Francis because it is the "Old Home Town", and because of the loyalty of the business men to all enterprises that make a bigger and better town. The people are developing rapidly the oil and gas field here and have several producing wells with other drilling. Francis has electricity and the Oklahoma Gas and Electric company is contracting to pipe gas into town. Francis has good schools and churches. It is a division point for the Frisco railroad, which has a payroll here now of $12,000. There also is an oil refinery here with a large payroll. I like Francis because everyone is full of life and because the people are among the best to be found anywhere. It like it because of its beauty, restfulness and its good water. Francis Local News Hugh Shinn of Oklahoma City is here visiting his uncle, Jeff Wilcoxson, and his mother, who is visiting here from Texas. Mr. Shinn has the Shinn Business College in Oklahoma City and is also working up business for his school. He says Miss Helene Lloyd, well known to many Francis people, was a pupil in his school a few years ago and that she was one of the most apt and closest students he ever had in his school. When she finished she took a position with the Security National Bank, and later resigned to take a position as head bookkeeper for Harey Katzs department store. Mr. Shinn says it is no trouble for a girl who applies herself like Miss Lloyd did to get a position and hold it. Mrs. J. W. Lloyd was called to Oklahoma City last week to attend the bedside of her daughter, Mrs. John Volz, who was undergone an operation for appendicitis.
