Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Butler died Jan. 1, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1915, at Aylsworth to B.F. and Elizabeth Owens Harless. She attended high school in Milo and came to this area in 1942 from Milo. She and Carroll Adam Butler were married Oct. 4, 1932, at Milo. He died Sept. 29, 2003, at Ada. Mrs. Butler worked part time for the city of Ada at the Glenwood Children’s Pool. She was also employed with First Baptist Church and Baptist Banner Association, cooking at Falls Creek and many church functions. She also worked for the Pontotoc County Election Board, served as Sunday school secretary and W.M.U. treasurer and nursery worker. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Maxine Butler in 1997, and Patricia Butler in 1984; and a son, Larry Butler, in 1953. Survivors include three daughters, Marie Lovin and husband Bill, Roff, Carolyn McCown and husband Samps, Wichita, Kan., Loretta Steele and husband, Gene, Ada; a son, Wesley Butler and wife Mary, Beggs; 11 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Krien Funeral Home --- ELIZABETH KEMMERER ROCKPORT, Texas — Graveside services for Elizabeth Taylor Kemmerer, 98, Rockport, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holdenville Cemetery, Holdenville, Okla., the Rev. Joe Robinson officiating. Visitation and viewing will take place at Fisher Funeral Home, Holdenville, on Monday. Mrs. Kemmerer died Jan. 1, 2004, at a Rockport nursing facility. She was born June 3, 1905, at Holdenville, Indian Territory, to William Marion and George Boswell Marable Taylor. She was raised in Holdenville, graduating from Holdenville High School in 1922. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor University, Belton, for two years then transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University (Shawnee, Okla.) in 1924, graduating with honors in 1926. She received her teacher’s certificate from the Oklahoma Department of Education on May 17, 1926, and began teaching English at Holdenville Elementary School. She and Charles Roland Kemmerer were married June 26, 1928, at Holdenville, Okla. Following their marriage, the couple moved to St. Louis, Mo., where Mrs. Kemmerer received her teaching certificate from the State of Missouri. They returned to Holdenville in 1926 where she resumed teaching and was involved with many civic activities. In 1941, the family began the area’s first Dodge and Plymouth dealership, located at 120 S. Oak Street. In 1942, she participated in the formation of the first War Fund drive on behalf of the American Red Cross. She joined the Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church on July 19, 1941. She received her 25-year Member Pin from the American Red Cross and was actively involved with the United Methodist Women’s Group. She began working for the Hughes County offices of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and Workforce Oklahoma in the mid-1960s. She relocated to the Rockport-Fulton area in 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Kemmerer; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Marion Taylor; and a daughter-in-law, Jane Lois Hickman Kemmerer. Survivors include a son, Dr. William Taylor Kemmerer and wife Gloria, Rockport- Fulton; three grandchildren, Jane Kemmerer, Pensacola, Fla., Charles Earl Kemmerer, Gainesville, Fla., and Claudia Kemmerer Majors and husband Michael, Holdenville; and a great-grandson, Chad Taylor Rhodes, Daphne, Ala. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator where she received two Seth Thomas clocks for being a Pioneer Telephone operator for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Pearl Canida Kolb, Josephine Burnside and Wanda Rush; and three brothers, Burl, Earl and Paul Canida. He was a 1962 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and moved to this area in June 1982 from Bartlesville. He and Monica Mulrooney were married Aug. 24, 1957, at Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada. Mr. Stittsworth was a funeral director, associated with Criswell Funeral Home from 1982 until the pr esent time. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956 and the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960. He was a member of the Exchange Club Bartlesville and the American Red Cross of Bartlesville, serving as past president, a member of the Kiwanis Club in Bartlesville and Ada, member of the Lions Club in Ada, serving as past president, a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as past president, and a member of the Oak Hills Golf and Country Club. He was also a member of the Ada High School football and baseball booster clubs, a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer in Ada, served on the City Council in Bartlesville from 1978-1982, serving as vice mayor, member of the City Council of Ada, elected in 2003, and a member of B.P.O.E. #1640 at Ada. Mr. Stittsworth was a longtime first aid instructor in Bartlesville and Ada and was a member of the Diamond "K" Kiwanis Club of Ada. He was affiliated with St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Pevehouse, on March 1, 1971, and Vernon Pevehouse, Jan. 27, 2003; and a daughter, Wilma Joyce Pevehouse, Feb. 16, 1946. He was a longtime member of Blue Baptist Church and attended Mary Lee Clark Methodist Church in Del City. He and Lizzie Mae Brown were married Jan. 20, 1950. She died June 6, 2003. He was preceded in death by his father, Fletcher W. Frazier, on March 12, 1947; his mother, Lela Greenwood Frazier, on July 19, 1946; brother, James Frazier, Dec. 26, 1986; a sister, Velma Frazier, Sept. 8, 1986; a sister, Rosa "Marie" Underwood, Nov. 11, 1999; and a brother, Joe Frazier, on June 28, 1999. He attended Oklahoma State University, Creighton University and the University of Chicago, where he received a master’s degree. He was a U.S. Air Force pilot and meteorologist for 30 years, deputy director of aircraft operations for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration for 14 years. Mr. Thomas was a member of Arena and Sigma Tau fraternities, a member of many professional organizations including the American Meteorological Society, Air Weather Service, Air Force Association, the 461st Bomb Group (H), Armed Forces Benefit Association and the Retired Officers Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and moved to this area in 1994 from Miami, Fla. He and Dorothy Miner were married Aug. 9, 1942, at Wichita, Kan. He married Billye Wilson April 20, 1955, at Lawton. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant son.
