He died Jan. 15, 2003, at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1934, at Fitzhugh, Okla., to Marvin and Lillie Beasley. He attended school at Fitzhugh and graduated from Ada High School. He served in the Air Force for 12 years and then moved to Brentwood in 1970, where he owned Beasley Electric for 32 years. he was named grand marshal of the Brentwood Christmas parade in December 2002. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was an oilfield pumper for Sun Oil Co., later Oryx, until his retirement in September 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church, National Rifle Association and American Legion. He attended Wewoka and Sasakwa schools as well as Murray State College, Tishomingo. He married Frances Virginia Turner on March 20, 1943. Mr. Rhoads moved to the Ada area in 1946. He served in the military during World War II and was employed in the construction industry for more than 50 years. He was co-owner of B & R Foundation Repair in Ada. He was born July 3, 1939, at Holdenville to Harvey Jim Sr. and Mary Jane Cornell Jim. He attended Choloco Indian Boarding School in Oklahoma City. He married Viola Stick. He was raised in the Holdenville and Oklahoma City areas. He had lived in Shawnee since 1978. Mr. Jim was a member of Middle Creek Indian Church No. 2. He was a mechanic. She married Jess Latham on Oct. 11, 1941, at Tishomingo. He died Sept. 1, 1987. Mrs. Latham worked for many years in the nursery of First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, where she was a member. Dr. Spengos died Jan. 15, 2003. He was born May 27, 1959, at Clinton to Theodore N. and Patricia Spengos. He grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Putnam City High School. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma at Edmond and graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Spengos completed his family practice residency in 1998 at Enid and practiced two years at Elk City. He was practicing in the Chickasaw Nation Health System at Ada at the time of his death. He served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II. He married Connie Treece July 29, 1940, at Ada. They lived in Malibu, Calif., and in Washington until 1985, when they returned to Oklahoma. Mary Ewing officiating and the Revs. Jim and Aaron Lokey assisting. Burial follows at Tishomingo City Cemetery. Mr. Lokey died Jan. 19, 2003. He was born April 5, 1915, at Watonga to Elmer Raiford and Lelia Opal Rex Lokey. He attended 18 schools from Honolulu, Hawaii, to Denver, Colo., before graduating from Redondo Beach High School, Redondo Beach, Calif. He was a 1939 graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. Following graduation he became the editor and publisher of the Wilson-Post Democrat. Mr. Lokey served four years in the U.S. Navy as an air combat intelligence officer with a seaplane squadron in the Central Pacific during World War II. He was awarded five battle stars. Following the conclusion of WWII, Lokey entered into a partnership with George B. Hill in 1946, purchasing the Johnston County Capital-Democrat. He obtained full ownership of the newspaper in 1949, serving as sole editor and publisher until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Lokey has served as president of the Tishomingo school board and has also served two terms as president of the Tishomingo Chamber of Commerce. He was also a past president of the Tishomingo Rotary Club as well as serving many years on the board of Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lokey was on of eight organizers of the former Bank of Johnston County, now BancFirst in Tishomingo, and was a past member of its board of directors. He also served as president of the Oklahoma Press Association in 1966-67. He married Margaret Hicks Phyffer in 1948. She died in 1982. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lokey is preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Kelly, Jefferson, La. Survivors include his children, Margaret Ann Overstreet, Jefferson, Rex Lokey, Tishomingo, Susie Kiser, Byng, Ray Lokey, Milburn, Leigh Hurst, Indianapolis, Ind., and Tom Lokey, Tishomingo; a brother, Joe Lokey, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Mary McBride, Montrose, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She graduated from Oilton High School in 1927 and attended Hill's Business College in Oklahoma City. She married James E. McKee Dec. 24, 1928, at Oilton. He died May 13, 1981. Mrs. McKee was employed at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf and the Head Start, both in Sulphur. She also worked as a grandmother in the Davis School System.
