Barry Worcester officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Green died Jan. 22, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1912, at Lamar to Burt and Alice DeVore Green. He came to this area as a young man. Mr. Green was in the oil exploration and production business. He was also a horse breeder, horse racer, raised quarterhorses and thoroughbreds and was affiliated with Colbert Baptist Church. He married Mary Helen Lynch in 1936. She died Jan. 29, 1985. He later married Marjorie Lynch in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Green, of the home; a daughter, Alice Lowrance, Ada; a son, Jerry Lee Green, Ada; two step-daughters, Cheryl Hosel, Houston, Texas, and Ellen Shannon, San Antonio, Texas; a stepson, Allen Lynch, Mustang; a sister, Betty Kennedy and husband James, Wynnewood; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Konawa. She was a member of United Methodist Women, a 50-year-member of Extension Homemakers Club and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a son, William Paul Fallis, June 20, 1996; and a sister, Alma Clark, in January 2003. Survivors include three sons, J.B. Later, she and her family relocated to Union Valley. She graduated from Stonewall High School and attended East Central University. She married Arthur Grisso on Dec. 24, 1938, in Ada. Mrs. Grisso was first deputy assessor for Charles Rushing and then later Frank Jared, county assessor, retiring in 1982 after 42 years of service. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, a charter member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Local Ada Post 1202. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Grisso, of the home; a daughter, Peggy Saunkeah and husband, Bobby, Ada; a brother, Travis Ellison, Ada; brother-in- law, Cecil H. She died Jan. 24, 2004. Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home --- JACK STIDHAM SEDAN, Kan. — Services for Jack R. Stidham, 69, Sedan, were today at First Baptist Church in Sedan. The Rev. Charles Klassen officiated. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hickory Cemetery, Hickory, Okla. Mr. Stidham died Jan. 24, 2004, at Sedan City Hospital in Sedan. He was born Feb. 24, 1934, the youngest of eight children born to George W. and Donnie Brandon Stidham at Hickory, an area also known as Hereford Heaven. He grew up and attended school at Hickory and as a young boy showed cattle at stock shows and worked on the Turner Ranch at age 14. After graduating from Hickory High School, Mr. Stidham served two years in the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1956. He moved to Lone Oak, Texas, in 1957 and worked for the McNutt Ranch. In 1958, he moved to the Flying L Ranch at Davis, Okla., and in 1959 moved to Honey Creek Ranch at Grove, Okla. While working on the Flying L Ranch, Mr. Stidham fitted and showed 30 champions, 20 reserve champions and 171 first places in major cattle shows across the United States. In 1970, he moved to the Stryker Hereford Ranch at Fredonia, Kan. While at Stryker Hereford, Mr. Stidham showed the National Champion Carload in 1971 and in 1972 was chosen as Herdsman of the Year and sold the highest priced bull to ever sell on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. In 1975, he moved to the Staats Ranch at Sedan where he worked until his retirement in 1998. He later moved to Sedan, where he was a member of First Baptist Church. On Nov. 3, 1957, he married Sue Brooks at Gainesville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Sue, of the home; two sons and their wives, Tim and Lemecia Stidham, Stillwater, Okla., and Tony and Lana Stidham, Independence, Kan.; a brother, George Stidham, Coweta, Okla.; six grandchildren, Emily, Shelby, Kayla and Colt Stidham, all of Stillwater, and Augusta and Amanda Stidham, both of Independence, Kan. She and Doyle Walls Sr. were married April 16, 1955, at Stonewall. Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years and her parents. Mrs. Hulsey was a custodian for Byng Elementary School from 1989 until retiring in June 2000. She was also owner of Pat’s Beauty Shop in Byng, retiring in 2000 and was a member of Byng Free Will Baptist Church. She came to Ada in 1975 from Muskogee and was a 1947 graduate of Kinta High School. She attended Connors Junior College, Warner, Eastern Oklahoma Junior College, Wilburton, and graduated from East Central University in 1952. She taught school for 21 years at Okmulgee, Roff and Duncan. Mrs. Briley was an active member of First Baptist Church in Ada, as well as the Gideons International and the Retired Teachers Association. She and Leonard Briley were married June 7, 1950, at Kinta. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lowrimore Jr. Survivors include her husband Leonard, of the home; a son, Stan Briley and wife Stacie, Ada; a daughter, Becky Kerr and husband Kerry, Carl Junction, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Holly and Hannah Kerr and Darren and Danielle Briley. Mr. Brown was an independent oil and gas producer, retiring in 1990. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Whitney died Jan. 27, 2004, at an Allen nursing facility. He was born Nov. 2, 1919, at Mulvane, Kan., to Robert M. and Gladys Sealock Whitney. He owned and operated grocery stores in Ponca City, Fittstown and Fox, and was a former manager of Kroger Grocery Stores in Mulvane, Manhatten, Kan., and Junction City, Kan. He was a member of Gideons International in Ada and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and Cyril I. Derryberry were married July 22, 1949. Survivors include his wife, Cyril Whitney, Allen; two stepdaughters, Dee Alexander, Clermont, Fla., and Guin Kerchner, Estes Park, Colo.; and two brothers, Kent Whitney, Bell Plain, Kan., and Al Whitney, Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Daniel died Jan. 22, 2004. He was born Jan. 9, 1912, at Clarita, Okla., to Robert Merle and Ada Haworth Daniel. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater, including Normandy, during World War II, and received an honorable discharge in November 1945. He and Juanita Groves Daniel were married and lived in the Ada, Okla., area for 30 years. He later married Martha Josephine. He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and a daughter, Alice Daniel, in 1994. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Martha Josephine, Shafter; six children and their spouses, Phyllis Ballard, Shafter, Patricia Cole, Albuquerque, N.M., Brenda Beene, Ada, Larry Daniel, Quinlin, Texas, Merle Daniel, Midland, Texas, Troy Daniel, Altus, Okla.; five siblings and their spouses, Arvilla Harris and Harvey Daniel, Shafter, Lena Howard, Delano, Bernice Barker, Placerville, Opal Vanoni, Lindsay, Okla; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
