Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Cannon died Friday, January 30, 2004, at a local nursing home. She was born November 29, 1923 at Roff, OK to Joe and Ida Hazelwood Younts. She lived in Ada most of her life and attended Roff schools. She married Troy Cannon on April 13, 1939. He died in October, 1982. She was employed with Dutchís Grocery Store, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and volunteered for the Senior Citizens. Survivors include two sons, Larry Cannon and wife, Connie, Ada, Troy Eugene Cannon and wife, Verna, Ada; one brother, Jessie Younts, Ada; three grandchildren, Laura Merrell, Japan; Bryan Cannon, Lawton; and Ernie Cannon, Ada; and seven great grandchildren, Cody Cannon, Latta, Shawn Cannon and Lexis Cannon, both of Ada, Kylar Merrell, Japan, Trace Merrell, Japan, Kaden Merrell, Japan and Torii Merrell, Japan. Mr. Cross was a farmer and rancher and was affiliated with Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Cross; and two sisters, Luella Ingram and an infant sister. LaVern Farmer officiating. Burial follows at East Hill Cemetery. Mr. Grinstead died Jan. 31, 2004, at Ardmore. He was born March 14, 1938, at Roff to Connie J. and Lula Beatrice Grinstead Grinstead. He was a lifelong resident of this area and attended school at Roff. Mr. Grinstead served in the National Guard/Reserves and had worked as a carpenter. He and Arlene Hollaman were married June 22, 1967, at Gainesville, Texas. She died Dec. 7, 1979. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Willard Grinstead; and two sisters-in-law, Velva Grinstead and Carmaletta Grinstead. Survivors include two daughters, Jerry Fires and husband Pokey, Stratford, and Mickey Walls and husband Donnie, Roff; a brother, Rabon Grinstead, Hickory; a sister, Cleo Hood and husband Elmer, Edmond; 10 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery. Mrs. Price died Jan. 31, 2004, at Ada. She was born April 25, 1921, at Byars to Charles and Harriet Townsend Burnett. She and Archie Price were married Nov. 20, 1940, at Clovis, N.M. He died March 14, 1994. After she married, she lived near Lubbock, Texas, until 1946. She then relocated to Stratford where, along with her husband, she owned and operated a dairy until 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stratford. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; five brothers; and two grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Hinkle and husband Dewayne, Stratford, and Susan Austin and husband Fred, Duncan, Ariz.; a sister, Peggy Price, Georgia; four grandchildren, Barry Hinkle, Cynthia Williams, Josh Austin and Ben Austin; and eight great-grandchildren. He was born July 15, 1920, in Ada to Harry E. and Rhoda L. Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Rea Peters; a brother, Harry Jr.; and a sister, Marion. Survivors include a sister, Ailene, Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, Ray, Houston, Texas. He graduated from Ada High School in 1938 and attended East Central State University. He worked as a design engineer for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps and ended his duty ferrying B-24s from Europe to Arizona. Later, he earned a degree in petroleum geology from the University of Oklahoma and worked as a geologist for Kerr McGee OIl & Gas, then as a consultant in his own business. He was a member of the American Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Lions Club. Donations may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. He was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Gainesville, Texas to Howard and Lena Belle Cooper Coles. He moved with his family to this area in 1923 from Gainesville. Mr. Coles attended school at Vanoss and was a member of the Mill Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. He married Margerine Ragland on Dec. 16, 1938, at Statford. Mr. Coles was a heavy equipment operator and a rancher in the Connerville area. She and her family moved to Seminole about 1927 then to Ada about 1928. She attended Latta schools and was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She married Roy T. Bottoms on Nov.15, 1930. He died Dec. 20, 1986, in Ada. Mrs. Bottoms was a homemaker, formerly a cook at Washington school, and bookkeeper for Bottoms Concrete Finishing, (B & B Construction). Survivors include three daughters, Betty Brown and husband, Dean, Ada; Wanda Fay Hilburn, Ada, and Mary Thomas, Ada; one son, John Bottoms and wife, Florence, Roff; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bottoms, Ada; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Wassie Bottoms, Alta Martin and Emogene Armstrong. She was preceded in death by a son, Vona Ray Bottoms, a granddaughter, Brenda Lynn Thomas and three brothers, Loyd Noel Armstrong, Doyl James Armstrong and John Preston Armstrong, two sisters, Vesta Hill and Ellen Armstrong. She attended school in Missouri and California and moved to Stonewall in 1983 from Elk City. She was a cook for Stonegate Nursing Home in Stonewall and was also a provider. Mrs. Isom was a Baptist. She married Everett Franklin Isom on Nov. 24, 1952, in California. He died in 1964 in California. Survivors include a son, Jerry Lynn Isom, Elk City; a daughter, Lorrie Ann Rolan, Fittstown; a sister, Peggy J. Romans, Ada; a brother, James Edward Godat, Warsaw, New York; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Mr. Musgrove attended school at Ardmore and graduated from Byng High School in 1963. He was a truck drive and also built custom choppers. He attended Freedom Center and was a member of the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association. He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Richie Don Shelton; and a daughter, Angie Nichole Musgrove. He also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold and Billy Dickerson. He attended and graduated from Centrahoma Schools and was a longtime Centrahoma resident. He worked for more than 29 years for the Department of Transportation’s District 3 Headquarters in Ada as a bridge foreman. He was a member of Centrahoma Baptist Church, Choctaw Veteran’s Association and was active in Choctaw Senior Citizens programs. He and Florence Horton were married Dec. 31, 1949, at Ada. Mr. Heck was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Heck; his parents, Odie and Ruby Kennedy Heck; a sister, Melba Evans; a brother, Cletus Heck; and his stepmother, Effie Heck. He attended Vanoss High School and East Central University. Mr. Newby was the owner and operator of Ada Implement Company, Ada, since 1968. He was ordained to the ministry in 1963 and had pastored Union Hill Baptist Church, Union Valley Baptist Church, Lightning Ridge Baptist Church and Galey Baptist, all of the Ada area. He was a member and associate pastor of Union Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father; and a grandson, Jake Newby. She spent her adult life in Ahloso Community until 1963 when she and her husband bought a peach farm in Stratford. She was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. She and Pias Joseph Greenwood were married at Emet, Okla., on June 8, 1940. He died March 9, 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, an infant son, her parents, two sisters, a brother and two grandsons. He was a car salesman until his retirement. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, was a private in the U.S. Army and corporal in the U. S.
