Eddie Malphrus officiating. Burial follows at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur. Mrs. Akers died Jan. 31, 2002, at Dallas. She was born March 5, 1913, at Teller, Okla. to John Ottis and Carrean Eva Benge Townsend. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Walker and Timothy Akers; a son, Bob Walker; and a granddaughter. She attended grade school at Ada and graduated from Ada High School. She attended East Central University two years. She was a nurse and worked at Valley View Hospital and Ballard Nursing Home. She married Houston Earl Foster Feb. 21, 1948. He died Oct. 13, 1999, at Ada. She was a Baptist. Survivors include three sons, Ben Foster, Jim Foster, Ada, and Mike Foster, Stroud; a daughter, Regina Franklin, Sherman, Texas; and nine grandchildren. DUNCAN - Services for Thomas Weston "Wes" Aldrich Sr., 78, Duncan, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Aldrich died Feb. 1, 2003, at a Duncan hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1924, at Gorman, Texas, to Roy and Hattie Eison Aldrich. He graduated from Byng High School and received a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from East Central University. He moved to Duncan in 1950. He worked for the General Adjustment Bureau in the 1960s and as an independent adjuster across the United States in the 1970s. He began his own agency with Farmers Insurance Group in 1976 and retired in 1998. He served in the Army during World War II and participated in offensives in Japan, Western Pacific and Guam. He received an honorable discharge in 1946. He married Lela Mae Shipley Jan. 31, 1947, at Ada. She died Dec. 11, 1993. He married Ethel Lorene Songer April 20, 1996. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lorene Aldrich; a son, Thomas Aldrich, Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Tompkins, Moscow, Russia, and Leslie Lewis, Duncan; and five grandchildren. She married Ernest Droke in 1931 at Ada. He died May 15, 1978. She was a member of the Vista, Calif. Church of Christ. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery, Stratford. Mrs. Allen died Feb. 3, 2003, at Stratford. She was born May 12, 1918, at Stratford to Willis A. and Mary B. Taylor Stinnett. She was a nurse for 26 years at Stratford Nursing Home and a member of Church of Christ. She lived in Stratford all her life. She and Ed Allen were married Jan. 15, 1940, at Ada. He died in July 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son, Don Allen, in March 2002. Survivors include a son, David Allen, Stratford; two daughters, Patsy Bryan, Stratford, and Debbie Jackson, Milpitas, Calif.; a sister, Buena Reed, Stratford; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandson. He was a life-long resident of this area and attended Frisco School. He married Emily A. Spears on Jan. 27, 1940, at Ada. She died March 8, 1994, at Ada. He then married Ida Hisaw. Mr. Hisaw was a farmer and rancher in the Stonewall area all his life. He was a long-time active member of Stonewall First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Ida Hisaw, Coalgate; a son, Charles Hisaw, Frisco; a daughter, Shirley Pogue, Ada; a sister, Florence Bradley, Porterville, Calif.; four stepchildren, Joann Phillips, Kathryn Shaw, Jackie Phillips and Woodrow Phillips; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Ada. She was preceded in death by a son. Reust, 81, Checotah, are 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Reust died Feb. 3, 2003, at a Muskogee hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1921, at Paris, Texas, to Clem Pierce Sr. and Annie Pierce Bowman. She attended grade school at Paris and was a graduate of Dunbar High School at Chicago, Ill. She married Lloyd Ernest Reust June 29, 1970, at Oklahoma City. In 1965, Mrs. Reust began working at Tinker Air Force Base as a cable specialist, retiring as a union steward-EEO specialist after 15 years of service. She was also a jewelry maker. Mrs. Reust served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in 1943 she made third officer. She was a Protestant. She was preceded in death by four grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Reust, of the home; four daughters, Linda Frazier, Ethel Daniels, Lola Colbert, all of Ada, and Rosa Mann, Georgia; two sons, Marvin Gibson and Velvie Gibson, both of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter whom she reared, Tonya Johnson, Georgia; two stepsons, Gary Reust, Rancho Cordova, Calif., Gerald Reust, Meeker; two stepdaughters, Lloydia Phillips and Pamela Heath, both of McLoud; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Leroy Stokes, of the home; her father, Earl Smith, Shawnee; a brother, Tony Smith, Tecumseh; and two sisters, Wanda Lehman and Louise Kelly, both of Shawnee.
