Mrs. Davis died Feb. 23, 2003, at a Norman hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1956, at Stroud to James and Wanita Brady Danley. She attended Hayes School and was a 1974 graduate of Ada High School. She graduated from East Central University in 1978. She married Dan Davis April 22, 1995. Mrs. Davis was the editor for the Journal Record Publishing Co. from 1985 until 1995. She was also a homemaker and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by twin sons Jake and Josh in 1995. Survivors include her husband, Dan Davis, of the home; a daughter, Whitney Davis, of the home; her mother, Wanita Danley Plunk, Ada; a sister, Phyllis Kunze, Ada; a brother, Forrest Danley, Edmond; and her grandmother, Mattie Brady, Ada. Mr. Stotts died Feb. 23, 2003, at a Sulphur hospital. He was born May 13, 1916, at Alva to John Dolphus and Maud Ann May Marlin. He and Marvina West were married Jan. 18, 1960, at Oklahoma City. She died Nov. 11, 2000. Mr. Stotts served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Burma and Southeast Asia. He attained a bachelor's of science degree in education from the University of Oklahoma in 1964. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in the Logistics Command. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Von Senden, St. Louis, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Janie Howell, Madill; a stepson, Don Yarbrough, Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Worley died Feb. 21, 2003, at Sulphur. He was born July 13, 1915, at Drake to John E. and Clara E. McBride Worley. He attended school in Sulphur. He and Ila Mae Dennis were married Nov. 15, 1947, at Henryetta. A longtime resident of the Sulphur area, Mr. Worley was a laborer and was affiliated with Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. ADA - Services for Joe M. Crisp Jr., 76, Sunshine Community near Ada, are 2 p.m. Saturday, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Don Parr officiating. Burial follows at East Hill Cemetery, Roff. Mr. Crisp died Feb. 24, 2003, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1926, at Blue Mound Community east of Sunshine Community to Joe M. and Myrtle Van Zant Crisp. He attended Blue Mound School and was a farmer and rancher. He also worked in the oil field in Fitts Field, Evergreen Mills and Ideal Cement. For more than 50 years, he drove a propane truck for Earl Parker at Bud's Rural Gas and Harris Propane. He served from February 1945 until July 1946 in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Marcus. He and Ruby Davis were married May 23, 1947, in Ada. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Crisp, of the home; a son, Bill Crisp, Tupelo; a daughter, Jo Ann Weiser, Ada; a brother, Tince Crisp, Ada; two sisters, Myrtle Bea Stokes, Leland, N.C., and Margaret Ann Cole, Ocean Springs, Miss.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Crisp, in 1955. Bearers are Donald Inslee, Cotton Wartchow, Kenny Paul Fortner, Jonathan Fortner, Lamont Ware and Gary Eager. Dennis, 57, Wapanucka, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Wapanucka School Gymnasium. Larry Adams, Wendall Ingram, Craig Rounsaville and Gary Robinson officiating. Burial follows at Rose Hill Cemetery. He died Feb. 24, 2003, at Denison, Texas. He was born Jan. 29, 1946, at Wapanucka to Kenneth and Opal Dennis. He was a 1963 graduate of Wapanucka High School, and received an associate's degree in agriculture education from Murray State College. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a master's degree in agriculture education. He was an agriculture teacher at Granite for 22 years and retired as the Johnston County OSU Extension Agent in July 1999 after 10 years of service. He also taught at Clinton. He was the principal and agriculture teacher at Wapanucka Schools. He was president and a member of the Oklahoma Vocational Agricultural Teachers' Association, a member of the Lion's Club, a member of the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce and was recognized as Citizen of the Year, a member of the Johnston County Junior Livestock Association, a member of the National Vocational Agriculture Teacher's Association and was on the board of directors with INCA Community Services. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Granite and Wapanucka. He and Sandra Kincaid were married on Aug. 6, 1965, in Wapanucka. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Dennis, of the home; his father and mother, Kenneth and Sue Dennis, Wapanucka; two sons, Jerry Gene Dennis II, Silsby, Texas, and Drew Dennis, Wapanucka; a daughter, Lana King, Wapanucka; four brothers, Kendal Dennis, Antlers, Kenny Dennis, Wapanucka, Charles Atteberry, Elk City, Carl Atteberry, Tishomingo; and four grandchildren. He was a carpet manufacturer and lived in Stratford all his life. He was a member of Dixon Chapel Presbyterian Church. He and Stella Smith were married Nov. 6, 1963, at Pauls Valley. He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Stella Gibson, Stratford; five sons, Curtis Gibson, Luther Gibson, Calvin Gibson, and William Gibson, all of Stratford, and Paul Gibson, Ada; two daughters, Ramona Walker and Rebecca Hopper, both of Allen; a sister, Agnes Ned, Pauls Valley; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Stephen Nation officiating. Burial follows in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Mr. Taylor died Feb. 25, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Melrose, N.M., to James and Vessie Joyner Taylor. He moved at the age of 2 to Hunter and at the age of 10 moved to Tishomingo, where he attended grade school. He graduated from Washita Farm High School and operated Washita Poultry Farm and later Murray College Livestock Farm. In 1945, he moved to Ada where he managed Floyd Poultry Farm, hatchery and feed store. He later worked for Ada Auto, retiring in 1975, and worked with his son, Darel, at Taylor Vending, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Good Sam Club of Ada. On April 27, 1933, he and Cecil H. Dale were married at Tishomingo. She died Jan. 17, 1994, at Ada. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Gibson, Vanoss; a son, Darel Taylor, Ada; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Cavener, 45, Stratford, formerly of Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oak Avenue Baptist Church, the Revs. Marvin Knox, Ray Talbott and Kenneth Elkins officiating. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery. Mr. Cavener died Feb. 25, 2003, at his home. He was born June 1, 1957, at Ada to Ed and Mildred Painter Cavener. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a 1975 graduate of Ada High School. Mr. Cavener worked in construction. He also worked at Branscum Lumber where he became manager. He received an award from the Lumberman's Association for his slogan, "Lumber Grows on Trees." Mr. Cavener was a member of Stratford First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his parents, Ed and Mildred Cavener, Ada; and a brother, Larry Cavener, Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Earhart died Feb. 25, 2003, at Ardmore. He was born Sept. 30, 1937, at Tishomingo. Mr. Earhart retired after 32 years of employment at Southern Pacific Railroad Co. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 32 years. He married Beverly Jean Earhart. Survivors include a son, William K. Earhart Jr., Tishomingo; two daughters, Carolyn C. Smith, Wills Point, Texas, and Sandra Nunnery, Tishomingo; a brother, J.D. Earhart, Tishomingo; and a granddaughter. Clifford Elliott officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada. Mrs. Hudson died Feb. 26, 2003, at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1905, at Mill Creek, Indian Territory, to William Alfred and Mary Etta Barnett Carter. She was a 1926 graduate of Ravia High School and attended East Central University, Ada. She married Arthur H. Hudson April 16, 1928, at Tishomingo, Okla. He died Sept. 5, 1982. Mrs. Hudson taught school at Prairie View, north of Tishomingo. She was a longtime active member of Church of God and taught Sunday school for many years. She moved from Ada to Irving in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo Brown, Roff, and Ruth Ann Flannery, Irving; a son, Arthur Max Hudson, Yukon, Okla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was born Oct. 27, 1942, at Wynnewood to Herman Lee and Eula Mae McCurdy Watson. He attended Woodland and Davis schools, graduating from Woodland High School. He also attended Murray State College for one year. He married Wanda Jean Jones June 21, 1961, at Davis. Mr. Watson was self-employed in the trucking business for 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Davis. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jean Watson, Davis; a son, Tony Dean Watson, Davis; two daughters, Dorena Jo White, Davis, and Penny Dawn Johnson, Velma; his father, Herman Lee Watson, Davis; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Daniel died Feb. 26, 2003, at a Stonewall nursing facility. She was born Sept. 14, 1914, at Madill to Riley and Cordie McCracken Bowen. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She married John M. Daniel Sept. 19, 1936. He died July 9, 1991, at Ada. Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Leonard Daniel and Johnny Daniel, both of Frisco; six grandsons; and 11 great-grandsons. Burial follows at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur. Mr. Jones died Feb. 26, 2003, at Davis. He was born Nov. 26, 1931, in Palmer County, Texas, to Lee A. and Elizabeth Christian Jones. He attended Oklahoma Lane School in Texas and graduated from Farwell High School, Farwell, Texas. He married Bobbie Ann Finnen Aug. 17. 1952, at Selmer, Ala. Mr. Jones was a farmer and rancher and was affiliated with Hope Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He moved from Farwell to Sulphur in 1978 and purchased the Buckhorn Ranch. Following the sale of the ranch he worked at the Goddard Youth Camp for 17 years. He had recently moved to Davis. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jones, Davis; three sons, Larry Jones, Sulphur, Harold Lee Jones, Hennepin, and Conda Lyle Jones, Ardmore; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lee died Feb. 27, 2003, at a local nursing facility. She was born Feb. 22, 1911, near Pickett to Fred and Sarah Boring Stephens. She lived most of her life in the Pickett area and attended Wilson school. She married Mose Lee Oct. 13, 1933. He died in 1981. Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and a longtime member of Wilson Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, Carlton and Wilford Lee. Survivors include a son, Eldon Lee, Gaar Corner; a daughter, Jane Curtis, Claremore; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Roberts Jr., 86, Stillwater, are 6 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Assembly of God, the Rev Joe Wilmoth officiating. Mr. Roberts died Feb. 26, 2003, at a Stillwater hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1916, at Snyder to Almer and Ethel Yoder Roberts. He graduated as salutatorian of the 1934 class of consolidated #3 in Frederick. He attended Oklahoma A&M College. Mr. Roberts and Mildrege Sullivan were married in 1941 at Lawton. She died in 1961. He later married Rae Ranney Fisk Penny. Mr. Roberts was veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Navy's Seabees during World War II's Pacific Theatre. Upon his return, he pursued careers in sales and education. He also worked as an instructor of safety engineering and retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Roberts; and a great-grandson Tanner Elliott. Survivors include his wife, Rae. R. Roberts; five sons, Cary Roberts, Chickasha, Wayne Penny Jr., San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; Ray Penny, The Woodlands, Texas; Jay Roberts, Dallas, Texas; and Steve Roberts, Stillwater; two daughters, Ann Roberts Matheny, Oklahoma City, and Beth Roberts Leong, The Woodlands; a brother, Bruce Roberts, Altus; a sister, Theresa Livingston, Frederick; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
