Badgett, 83, Lindsay, formerly Ada, are 11 a.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Chapel, Ada, Brandon Fentem officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Family will receive friends today from 3-5 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home. Mrs. Badgett died Feb. 28, 2003, at a Norman nursing facility. She was born July 1, 1919, at Asher to James and Lee Roy Goss. She attended Goins Public School and was a 1937 graduate of Purcell High School. She also attended East Central State College in 1941, graduating with a bachelors of education degree. She and Ross R. Badgett Jr., were married Sept. 25, 1943, at Raleigh, N.C. Mrs. Badgett first taught school at Bradley, specializing in speech, English and coaching basketball. She taught the next year at Criner. >From 1966-1986 she taught school at Tupelo, receiving the Teacher of the Year Award for Coal County in 1979. Mrs. Badgett was an active member of First Baptist Church of Ada and taught fifth grade Sunday school class for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Survivors include her husband, Ross R. Badgett Jr., of the home; three sons, Ross Badgett III and his wife, Le, Knoxville, Tenn., Joe Badgett and his wife, Sandy, Lenexa, Kan., and Scott Badgett and his wife, Kathy, Mustang; a daughter, Becky Fentem and her husband, Brandon, Lindsay; two sisters, Elsie Worden and her husband, Buster, Purcell, and Lois Huddleston, Purcell; a brother, Dr. Ernest Goss and his wife Virginia, Broken Arrow; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bearers are Roy Huddleston, Dale Huddleston, Keith Huddleston, Bob Huddleston, Hap Jones and Scott McPherson. LaVern Farmer officiating. Mr. Farmer died Feb. 28, 2003, at Sulphur. He was born May 29, 1923, at Stratford to Wlllie Lee and Emma Reed Farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a lifelong resident of the Garr Corner area. Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford, is in charge of arrangements. --- INA LITTLE SULPHUR - Services for Ina Marie Little, 86, Sulphur, are 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, the Revs. Duane Brogdon and Eddie Malphrus officiating. Burial follows at Hickory Cemetery. Mrs. Little died Feb. 28, 2003, at a Sulphur hospital. She was born June 26, 1916, at Agra to Ebon Alexander Walters and Lorena Van Brunt. She relocated to Hickory as a child and graduated from Hickory High School. She married Hubert Leroy Little July 14, 1933, at Ada. He preceded her in death. While living in Murray County and Sulphur, Mrs. Little ran a boarding house, a record shop, was employed at Sooners and the veterans hospital, from which she retired. She was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church and of the Eastern Star. She was outstanding volunteer of the State of Oklahoma for two years. She is preceded in death by two infant children. Survivors include a son, Ronald Earl Little, Sulphur; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bearers are James Jack, Clayton Jack, Robert Essary, Ron Sharp, Dr. Glendon T. Family members will officiate. Mr. Long died Feb. 27, 2003, at Sulphur. He was born July 17, 1918, at Atoka to Joseph Newton and Hilda Frances Long. He married Hazel L. Wilson April 12, 1939, at Sulphur. She died Jan. 27, 2002. Mr. Long was a resident of this area most of his life and was a former employee of the Civilian Conservation Corp camp. He was a plant worker at Continental Carbon. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Long, Sulphur; two sisters, Beatrice and Levey; two brothers, Ronnie and Wilburn; four grandchildren; and 7 great- grandchildren. Mrs. McGreevy died Feb. 28, 2003, at Ada. She was born May 28, 1926, at Milwaukee, Wis., to Alex and Anna Weber. She married John B. "Jack" McGreevy Dec. 17, 1949, at Arapaho. He preceded her in death Mrs. McGreevy was an employee of the Bank of Canton for 20 years before moving to Pennsylvania in 1974. She returned in Oklahoma in 1980, settling in Ada. Survivors include a son, John M. "Mike" McGreevy, Enid; two daughters, Pat Weber, Okeene, and Jan Brayo, Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Virginia Murray, Enid, Evelyn Miller, Culver City, Calif., and Annette Symons, Alachua, Fla.; two brothers, Eugene Weber, Alachua, and Lynn Weber, Longdale; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Yargee died Feb. 26, 2003, at her home. She was born Jan. 17, 1962, at Wewoka to Jackson and Margaret Harjo Tiger. She was raised in the Vamoosa area and graduated from Central High School. She attended Seminole State College and Wes Watkins Vo-Tech. She married Lymon Yargee on Oct. 7, 1977, at Holdenville and they made their home in the Vamoosa area. Mrs. Yargee was an LPN at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility from 1995-1998 and was currently employed as a family service worker for CDI-Seminole Nation Head Start. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Lymon Yargee Sr., of the home; her children, Jack Tiger, Konawa, Hayga Chalepah, of the home, Lymona Jo Yargee, Konawa, and Lymon Yargee Jr., Wewoka; her mother, Margaret Tiger, of the home; a sister, Mary Christine Leetka, Shawnee; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Bond died March 1, 2003, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born April 4, 1936, at Ada to Clarence and Ethel Mae Newton Bond. He moved back to this area in September 2002 from Kosciusko, Miss. He was employed with the city of Mesa, Ariz., as a street sweeper for 35 years. He married Lorene Craig April 11, 1956, at Phoenix, Ariz. He was a member of New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Bond, of the home; two sons, Clarence Brydia Bond Jr. , Phoenix, and Billy Wayne Bond, Ada; a daughter, Brenda Lorene Rogers, Louisville, Miss.; a sister, Marcella Ware, Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Clyde Wayne Bond, Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Mrs. Carothers died March 1, 2003, at an Ada nursing home. She was born May 30, 1910, at Wagoner. She came to Ada in November 2000 from Oklahoma City. She attended grade school at Last Chance, near Okemah. She was employed at Tinker Air Force Base. She married G.W. Gower, who preceded her in death. She later married Clyda A. Carothers, who died in August 1978. She was a longtime member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She taught a Sunday school class for 54 years. She was a charter member of the Son Shine Choir and was director of the Drama Club for a number of years. She was active in the Senior Adult Club where she served as program chairperson. She was past president of the WMU and also served as president of the Oklahoma County Association. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, being Past Matron of Oklahoma Chapter #10. She was a member of the Post Matrons Club of Oklahoma and was an active member of the Sheaf Chapter #512. She was a member of the Fidelis Oklahoma Chapter #426. She earned the Rainbow Cross of color and many other honors. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Frame and husband, Norman, of Ada, and Georgia Lou Pfeil and husband, Earl, of Houston; six grandchildren; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Lee Carothers in May 1997 and Gary D. "Corky" Gower in September 2000. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier. Mr. Lamb died Feb. 14, 2003, at Temple City. He was born Aug. 1, 1930, at Francis, Okla., to Jesse J. and Cora Bell Lamb. He was the youngest of 14 children and raised on a cotton farm in eastern Oklahoma where he learned to pick cotton. He joined the Army at 17. He was baptized Feb. 26, 1955, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witness, Rosemead Congregation. He has been a member of the West Rosemead Congregation for the past eight years where he was known to everyone as "Papa Lamb." He and Lurlee Mae Jones were married Dec. 15, 1949. Survivors include his wife, Lurlee Mae Lamb; a son, Ronald Wayne Lamb; daughter-in-law, MariaElena Lamb; a granddaughter, Rachel Ann Lamb; two sisters, Oneita Norman, Snyder, Okla., and Sylvia Snoddy, Ada, Okla. She was born march 12, 1913, at Burr Valley to John Franklin and Katie Farris Burrow. She attended school at Jesse. She and Samuel "Harvey" Roberts were wed Dec. 23, 1933. He died Dec. 12, 2002, at Ada. Mrs. Roberts was employed with Wrangler and Blue Bell, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church and a founding member of West View Baptist Mission, west of Ada. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Bessie DeWitt, Ruby Hays, Vergie Cox, Maudie Sherrell and Verna Cameron; and two brothers, John and Henry Burrow. She and her husband owned and operated Pegg's News Stand and Gift Shop in Ada and also operated a slot car track, which she had built. She married Ovid Pegg in 1933. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Allen First Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Oleta Crain, Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lamb was a homemaker as well as a rancher's wife. She moved to Stratford in 1965 from Collidge, Ariz., and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stratford where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a poet and many of her poems were copyrighted in 1998. Mr. McBroom died March 9, 2003, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born June 21, 1925, at Ada to Lawrence "Snow Ball" and Irene Barker McBroom. He lived in this area all his life. He graduated from Ada High School in 1943 and East Central University at Ada in 1949. He earned a master's degree in education from the University of Oklahoma in 1954. He taught and coached at Glenwood, Ada Junior High and at Ada High School from 1959 until he retired in 1980. He was finance director for the Ada School system for many years and was serving in that position at the time of his death. He was a deacon of First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the youngest sergeant from this area, serving in Africa and Italy in the 91st Infantry Division. He also served in the 45th Division in the Korean Conflict. He married Ann Moore Aug. 29, 1946. Survivors include his wife, Ann McBroom, of the home; two sons, Gary McBroom and Larry McBroom, both of Ada; a daughter, Patty Harrison, Ada; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Thompson was an elementary teacher as well as a homemaker. In 1941 she and her husband moved to Durant where they were co-owners of Lyte House Book Store. Later, the Lyte House Book Store and Thompson Book and Supply merged. This is where Mrs. Thompson worked until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the Berean Sunday school class. She was also active in the Creative Arts Guild of Durant. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Virgil, Shelby and Bruce; and a sister, Velma Griffith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Danny Craige, Durant; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
