Pickard Funeral Home --- BETTY WEAVER ADA — Services for Betty Jo Weaver, 78, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Carl Hayes and David Gray officiating. She was born Oct. 21, 1925, at Ada to James M. and Ida M. Walker Byrd. She lived in Stonewall as a child and graduated from Stonewall School in 1944. Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She and A.D. "Duke" Weaver were married July 10, 1969. He died July 3, 1975. Survivors include two sons, Gary Hinde, Vallejo, Calif., and Rod Hinde, San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Karen Downing, Ada; and two grandchildren, Jason Downing, Ada, and Surinda Hinde, Vallejo, Calif. Richard Winters officiated. Burial followed at Konawa Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips died March 2, 2004, at Konawa. She was born July 1, 1945, at Seminole to Lonnie Otto and Ocie Holbert Tracy. She was a longtime Konawa resident and worked as a seamstress for several years at Michaels Casual. She also worked at Sooner State Bank in Konawa for 15 years, retiring in 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents. She married Hubert N. Phillips Jr. Aug. 4, 1962, at Konawa. Survivors include her husband, Hubert Phillips Jr., Konawa; a son, Dr. Russell Phillips and wife Leah, Keller, Texas; and a daughter Shawna DePrater and husband William, Ada. He was born Oct. 1, 1946, at Tupelo to Earnest Doyin and Leona Harbin Stonecipher. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1964. He later attended college before serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for six years. He and Sherry Turpin were married July 8, 1966, at Lula. Mr. Stonecipher worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot for six years. He then served as night manager at Champion Truck Stop at Savanna, and rode with "Snookie" Amaranto on patrol for the Pittsburg County Sheriffs Department. He later was hired as a dispatcher with the Sheriff’s Department and in 1974 began serving as deputy. He served under Sheriffs J.B. Orr and Don Hass and also worked security at Wal-Mart. In 2000, Stonecipher again joined the Sheriff’s Department as undersheriff. He was a member of Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association, McAlester Scottish Rite Consistory and Lula Baptist Church. He was also a 32nd-Degree Mason with Savanna Masonic Lodge 534 and retired from Savanna Fire Department. Mr. Stonecipher was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Doyin Stonecipher; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Stonecipher, of the home; a daughter, Karen McGaugh and husband Jeff, Columbus, Ohio; his mother, Leona Stonecipher, Ada; a sister, Barbara Cameron and husband Edward, Stonewall; a brother, Larry "Kent" Stonecipher and wife Jackie, Ada; two grandchildren, Avery McGaugh and Quinn McGaugh, both of Columbus; and a host of relatives and friends. He came to this area in 1962 from Ardmore. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948 and the Naval Reserves for four years. He and his family moved to Bixby about 13 years ago from Ada. He was the owner of Breathewell Sleep Labs. He married Kristi Annette Jackson Fleet July 27, 1984, at Ada. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home. Mr. Fentem died March 13, 2004, at a Conway, Ark. hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1927, at Shawnee to Alfred Longley and Mildred York Fentem. He lived in the Ada area most all his life. He attended Washington Elementary and graduated from Ada High School in 1945. He was an All-State football player. He attended East Central University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He was the youngest person to pass all four Certified Public Accountant exams the first time and was the first certified public accountant in Ada. He married Donna Rowton Dec. 17, 1949, in Ada. She died May 27, 1986, in Ada. He married Norma Freeman in 1991. He was a member of Sulphur United Methodist Church and served on the Ada School Board for many years. He was president of the board when Washington Elementary was built. He was a former member of the Youth Shelter Board and former board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Ada. He served in the U. S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Norma Fentem, of the home; three sons, Brandon Fentem and wife Becky, Lindsay, Donald Fentem and wife Tina, Bryant, Ark., and Jeff Fentem, Midland, Texas; two stepsons, Bobby Rose and wife Doris Ann, Sulphur, and Larry Rose and wife Cindy, Edmond; a son-in-law, Alan Babb, Ada; a sister, Bette McSwain and husband Foster, Coos Bay, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Pat Fentem, and 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edie Babb, grandson, Jonathan Kit Fentem and a brother, Dick Fentem. He was a member of First Christian Church and a 32th-degree Mason and a member of Ada Lodge 119 AF & AM. He was a pilot in the U. S. Army-Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. He married Mildred Criswell May 19, 1946. She died May 8, 2003, in Ada. Survivors include a son, C. R.
