The Rev. Vernal West officiated. Mr. Stanfield died March 13, 2004, at his Ada home. He was born Nov. 24, 1916, at Leader community, Pontotoc County, to Jacob A. and Pauline Gibson Stanfield. He attended Leader School. He and Lois L. Etheridge were married Jan. 6, 1941, at Allen. Mr. Stanfield retired from farming/agriculture on the West Coast in 1966, and then returned to the Ada area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob A. and Pauline Stanfield; and two brothers, Bill and John Stanfield. Survivors include his wife, Lois L. Stanfield; two daughters, Wanda L. Christensen, Ahaheim, Calif., and Janice F. Stanfield, Ada; three sons, A.J. Stanfield, Roger Stanfield, and Alan Stanfield, all of Ada; two sisters, Faye Brdecko, Valley Farms, Ariz., and May Hartwig, Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Williams died March 14, 2004, at a Pauls Valley nursing facility. She was born Jan. 20, 1922, at Conway to Luther and Hilda Allison Malone. She attended school at Conway and was a homemaker. She and Raymond Matthews were married in 1945. He died in 1959. She later married Jess L. Williams in 1962. He died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Hilda Blankenship and husband Allen, Byars; four grandchildren, Kaye Kerby, Byars, Rebecca and Billy Simmons, both of Iowa, George Gregory Jr., Leslie and Kristy Gregory, all of Byng; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; two nephews; three nieces; and a great-uncle. Welborn, 80, Ada, are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Rev. John D. Norvell officiating. Dr. Welborn died March 16, 2004, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born July 13, 1923, at Kingston to Dr. Orange E. and Marjorie K. Miller Welborn. He graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central University and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Welborn enlisted in the Army Air Corps as a military surgeon. He served in the Middle East from 1947-1949 during the Arab-Israli War of Independence. He joined his father in the medical practice in Ada in 1949 and continued an active practice until his retirement in 1993, with almost 40 years of service. Dr. Welborn married Wilma Jo Walker Dec. 23, 1950. She died May 18, 1990. He was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served on the board of trustees for the Oklahoma Department of Health. He was actively involved in local, state and national medical associations, serving as president of the Oklahoma Medical Association and as a delegate to the American Medical Association. He was a 32 degree Mason. In addition to his wife, Dr. Welborn was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie W. Cook. Survivors include three children, Orange Michael Welborn and wife Debbie, Pauls Valley, Jane E. Welborn, Tarpon Springs, Fla. and Jo Ellen Welborn, Mineral Wells, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jo Beth, Toby, Jason, Christopher, Michael B., Nikolaus F., and Stephen J.; and a great-grandson, Noah E. Welborn, Grapevine, Texas. Burial follows at Holdenville Cemetery. He died March 17, 2004. --- KATE WHITNEY BOULDER, Colo. — Kate June Case Barnes Whitney, 84, Boulder, died Feb. 29, 2004, at her home. She was born June 29, 1919, at Ada, Okla., to John H. and Kate Whiteside Case. She was raised in Ada and graduated with honors from Christian College, Columbia, Mo., and the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Okla. She married Donald E. Barnes in 1942. In 1973, she married Elwood "Whit" Whitney. He died in 1992. During World War II, she worked at Douglas Aircraft plant in Oklahoma City, preparing C-47s for shipment to Russia and Britain. She moved to Boulder in 1952 and was house advisor to Kappa Alpha Theta at CU and was host and chairperson for the World Affairs Conference. In 1960, she moved to New York City and to Wainscott, Long Island in 1965. Mrs. Whitney was a real estate broker with the Lamb Agency in East Hampton for 25 years and was a several-time director and president of Wainscott's Georgica Association. She was first vice president of Easthampton's Ladies Village Improvement Society. She retired to Boulder in 1990. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck, in 1930; and her parents. Survivors include a sister, Caroline Balbin, Walla Walla, Wash.; her first husband, Donald E. Barnes, New London, N.H.; sons Casey Barnes, Dalton, Pa., and Louis Barnes, Boulder; daughters-in-law Beatriz Rivera and Susan Barnes; and four grandchildren, Nigel, Rebecca, MacKenzie and Gus. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Lobaugh died March 17, 2004, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1919, at Ada to Andrew Jackson and Alice McDaniel Frye. She graduated from Fitzhugh High School in 1937 and obtained bachelor's and master's degrees from East Central University. Mrs. Lobaugh was an elementary school teacher in Wright City, Ahloso, Homer and later in Stonewall, retiring in 1977. She also taught private piano lessons. She and William Vasco Moore were married Aug. 14, 1940, at Wright City. He died Dec. 23, 1983, at Ada. She later married Haskell Lobaugh Sr., in 1984. He died Jan. 23, 2004. Mrs. Lobaugh was a member of the First Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Past Matron and organist. She was also a member of the Tanti Study Club. Survivors include two sons, Joe H. She was a volunteer at Valley View Regional Hospital for several years, was a member of Southwest Church of Christ, Ada, and attended the Allen Church of Christ. She and Snow B. Dilbeck were married March 21, 1932, at Cordell. He died Oct. 20, 1980. She later married Edward Lowry Dec. 2, 1981. He died Dec. 24, 1987. In addition to both her husbands, Mrs. Lowry was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Snooks Johnson and Earnest Johnson. Mrs. Taylor and her husband owned and operated White Way Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Ada for many years. She was a Southern Baptist and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, William Michael Taylor; three brothers, Dee Middleton, Lawrence Thompson and Eddie Thompson; an infant sister; two great-grandsons; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was a miner until his retirement and later was an employee of Idle Time Camper in Allen. She was born Nov. 9, 1925, at Pleasant Hill to Claude Elbert and Lula Hammersley Wood. She graduated from Clarita High School in 1941. She was employed with Douglas Aircraft during World War II and later with Blue Bell Wrangler Company. She owned and operated Bolen’s Cafι in Stonewall for approximately 30 years. She and Frank Bolen were married Nov. 1, 1945, at Stonewall. He died Jan. 2, 1997. Mrs. Bolen was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Chester Lee Wood, Roy Wood, and L. K. Wood. Survivors include a son, George Bolen and wife Jonnie, Union Valley; two daughters, Barbara Ann Rutherford and husband Warren, Jesse, and Linda Kaye Bolen, Ada; three brothers, Jack Wood, Merl Wood and Earl Wood, all of Stonewall, two sisters, Josie James, Stonewall and Mildred Gettings, Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Vincent Edward Bolen, Victor Elbert Bolen and wife Amy, Dameon Kyle Rutherford, and Tiffany Ann Rutherford; and a great-grandson, Blayke Morgan Bolen. She taught elementary school at Blue Mound, Fittstown and Roff, retiring after 32 years of service. She and Buck Heard were married July 28, 1940. He died July 3, 1984. She was a longtime, active member of Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church for more than 70 years. He served in the Army and received many decorations and citations, including a Good Conduct Medal in World War II, Victory Ribbon EAME Theatre Ribbon, a Silver Service Star and a Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Muck and Sue Cox were married Oct. 18, 1946, at Ada. He worked for Chemical Express in Ada as a shop foreman and was a member of Center Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Muck was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and J.R. Atwood; and three brothers, Ray Muck, Billy Muck and Marvin Muck.
