She was a lifelong resident of this area and attended school in Owl Creek. She married James Edward Lewis. He died January 1979. Mrs. Lewis was the head cook for the Chickasaw Nation Head Start program, retiring in 1990 after 15 years of service. She is preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Lewis. Survivors include a son, Jerry Norman, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Phyllis Herrera, Purcell, Barbara Wright and Susan Antonio, both of Ada; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was raised in Pontotoc County and earned her teaching degree at East Central University in Ada. She taught in one-room schoolhouses at Jackson School in Tishomingo and Gilbert School, and taught at Wanette, Rose Hill and Tribbey. She married Raymond Neal November 29, 1933, at Wewoka. He preceded her in death March 3, 1993. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Wanette and the Eastern Star, serving twice as worthy matron for the Wanette chapter. She is preceded in death.by six brothers, Jinks, James, William, George Jr., John and Willie "Sugar"; and a sister, May. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1996. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, where she was active with the quilting club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughters, Wanna Williams and Sandra Ann Richardson; brothers, Hershel, Millard and Leon Anderson; and a great-grandson, Aaron Armstrong. She married Edwin Leroy Baumert Oct. 8, 1928, at Coalgate. He died July 16, 1981. Mrs. Baumert was a homemaker. At age 40 she became a licensed practical nurse and worked for 22 years. She was a member of the Coalgate First Presbyterian Church and served as church pianist. She was also a member of the Lamel Study Club, Coalgate Music Club and Women's Auxiliary to the Pocahontas Lodge. She is preceded in death by a son, Charles Baumert; a daughter, Mary Caroline Baumert; a grandson, Jerry Moore; granddaughters, Julie Moore, Michelle Baumert, and Judy Bills; three brothers, Carl, Bertie and Alfonzo; three sisters, Ruth, Orathy, and Naomi; and her parents Charles and Ethel Butler Gustafson. He was a longtime Pottawatomie County resident. He married Lela F. Bottom March 23, 1932, at Hobart. She died Oct. 10, 2002. Mr. Patterson attended Asher Assembly of God Church. He was a retired dairy farmer and rancher, and served on the Asher Board of Education. He had also ran for Pottawatomie County commissioner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela F. Patterson; four brothers, LM. "Big Pat" Patterson, "Little Pat" Patterson, and two infant brothers; and a sister, LaNore Craft. Survivors include a son, C. Lyon Patterson and wife, Betty L, Konawa; a daughter, Karen D. Biddy, 78, Ada, are 1 p.m. Monday at Rollow Chapel, First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Larry Varvel and Dr. Roberto Escamilla officiating. Mrs. Biddy died April 4, 2003, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1924 at Okeene to Joe. E Lillie Addis Naylor. She graduated from Okeene High School in 1942 and came to Ada in 1951. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in business. She and Leon Biddy were married in December 1946 at Wichita, Kan. Mrs. Biddy, along with her husband, established Biddy Printing Co. in Ada on Nov. 5, 1953. She worked with her husband in the business until it was sold. She and her husband purchased the Barringer home on South Johnston in 1960, which was built in 1907 and is one of the centennial homes in Ada. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in League of Women Voters, P.E.O. in Okeene and was a charter member of the National Association of Royalty Owners. She was also active for many years in the Women's Golf Association at Oak Hills Country Club and a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Oak Hills Country Club. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Lou. He was born March 31, 1912, at Hugo to Samuel E. and Mary Lou Tisha Cox. He lived and attended school in Tulsa. He moved to Wewoka in 1926 and was an automobile dealer there for 50 years and also worked in the real estate business for 20 years. He was an active member of the Wewoka Church of Christ. He married Mabel Harris June 14, 1933. She died in 1992. Survivors include three sons, Jim Cox and wife Shirley, Joe Cox and wife Dorothy, and Johnny Cox and wife Carolyn; a daughter, Jane Buchanan and husband James; 10 grandchildren including one grandson Mark Cox and wife Pam, Ada; and 31 great-grandchildren. He married Billie Fae Walker March 24, 1951, at Lovelady. Following his graduation from Byng High School in 1948, Mr. Taylor joined the U.S. Army, serving until 1949. In 1969, he relocated from Lovelady to Healdton. He retired from Texaco Oil Company in December 1988 after 37 years of service. Mr. Taylor was a member of Shell Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
