Mick Snider officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. He died April 11, 2003, at Shawnee. He was born January 9, 1979, to Jerry W. Morrison and Betty Biggs Freeman at Midwest City. He attended Byng schools and graduated from Ada High School. He attended East Central University where he worked in the ECU library. He later worked as a construction worker. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his mother, Betty Freeman, Ada; his father, Jerry Wayne Morrison, Stonewall; his grandmother, Nettie Biggs, Ada; two halfsisters, Jennifer Hansmire, Irving, Texas, and Shelley Chenot, Asher; and half-brother Greg Morrison, South Padre Island, Texas. Graveside services and burial Follow at 3:30 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery at Ada. Mr. Ray died April 12, 2003, at a Guthrie nursing facility. He was born July 10, 1910, on a farm three miles north of Ada to George Dabney and Martha Jane Berryman Ray. Mr. Ray moved to Ponca City in 1926 to work in the wheat harvest. Between 1926 and 1929, he worked at odd jobs and as a farm hand on the historic 101 Ranch. He went to work for OG&E in 1929. After 15 years, he became a master electrician and electrical contractor. During World War II, he worked for the Defense Department, traveling to several states. He owned and operated Ray's Electric Service in Newkirk until he retired in 1975. He was a 60-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 444 of Ponca City. He married Thelma Linscott June 21, 1929, in Newkirk, who preceded him in death in 1982. Dixon and Gary Jamar officiating. Burial follows at Swan Hill Cemetery. He died April 14, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1945, to the Rev. J.T. and Artice Earp Roberts at Ada. He moved back to this area from Piedmont in 1982. He attended Anadarko Grade School, Del City Junior High and graduated from Putnam City High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee and a master's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma at Edmond. He taught and coached at McLoud High School, Putnam City and Piedmont. He was a principal and later assistant superintendent at Piedmont schools. He moved to Latta School as superintendent in 1982. From January 1988 until June 2000, he was the assistant superintendent of Pontotoc Technology Center in Ada. Later, he was the director of economic development for southeastern Oklahoma at Southeastern Oklahoma University in Durant. He was a deacon and attended Morris Memorial Baptist Church at Latta. He was active with the OBU Bison Alumni and the OBU Athletic Association. He was active in the local and state Democratic Party. He was preceded in death by his mother on Jan. 1, 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Mika Strong and her husband, Jeremy, Oklahoma City, and Story Roberts, of the home; his father, the Rev. J.T. Roberts, Ada; his sister, Lawana Roberts, Oklahoma City; and a grandson. Gehrig Strong, Oklahoma City. He attended school in England and graduated from Rosemead, Calif. He was a travel agent until his retirement. He married Mary F. Pate Sept. 26, 1959, at Rosemead. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Lewis, Dec. 24, 1991. He was a former owner and operator of a grocery and restaurant in Boswell. He owned and operated grocery stores in several locations in Ada between 1941 and 1946, the last of which was across from the old high school and featured a lunch counter. Mr. Malone was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, International Odd Fellows and Ada Rebekah Lodge. He moved back to Oklahoma and served as pastor at Bentley, Centrahoma, Gene Autry, Holdenville, Okemah and retired from Locust Grove at Lipscomb, Texas. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church at Earlsboro. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1965. He was stationed at Anchorage, Alaska, Tinker Air Force Base at Oklahoma City and Patrick Air Force Base at Florida. He and Mary Alice Griffin were married Oct. 15, 1952, at Elmendorf Air Force Base at Anchorage. He died Dec. 28, 1983. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Paul Eugene Berger, and a son, James Ray Berger. Survivors include a son, Jack D.
