He was born April 3, 1931, at Non to Harrison Simpson and Cynthia Bell Hughes Youngblood. He and Bessie Wright were married Oct. 23, 1952, at Wichita, Kan. She died Oct. 18, 1984. He later married Cora Windle Stephens April 28, 1985, at Haywood. Mr. Youngblood retired from the Army Ammunition plant in McAlester after 30 years of service as a boiler inspector. A lifelong resident of the McAlester area, Mr. Youngblood was affiliated with Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bessie Youngblood; an infant son, Larry Youngblood; and a sister, EvaLee Linton. She was born June 21, 1914, at Era to Joseph Edward and Daisy Waggoner Gregory. She and Herman Davis Cowling were married Feb. 8, 1935, at Era. He died in 1983. Mrs. Cowling was a member of the Era Church of Christ and Commerce Street Church of Christ. She taught at the Gainesville State School for Girls for 20 years and was a member of the Retired Teachers’ Association. She was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years, teaching preschool children. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Pollard Cemetery Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Cowling, her brothers Keith, Lowell and Richard Gregory, and her sister, Bonnie Cheaney. He married Marie Earnhart June 23, 1944, at Coalgate. He was affiliated with Primitive Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Harry Ells Petroleum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Sallie Rhyne; four sisters, Alma Ryan, Ethel Ennis, Hazel Joyce and Mary Lee Atkins; and three brothers, Marion Rhyne, Melton Rhyne and Carl Rhyne. Survivors include his wife, Marie Rhyne, of the home; three daughters, Beverly Chaney, Wagoner, Sally Thomason, Sulphur, and Mary Smoot, Ada; a son, Pete Rhyne, Ada; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Epperson Funeral Service ==================== Monday, May 5, 2003 BOB BRACKEEN STONEWALL — Memorial services for Bob Neil Brackeen, 73, Stonewall, are scheduled for a later time. He died May 2, 2003, at Stonewall. He was born June 19, 1930, to Andrew Grady and Ethel May Popejoy Brackeen at Lamesa, Texas. He married Lila Emery Feb. 22, 1951, at Enid. He received his GED for his high school requirements and attended college at various locations. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 where he was an investigator in the Office of Special Investigations. He retired in 1971 after achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He worked for a short period as a U.S. Customs Inspector for the California government. He was a chief inspector for the racing board of California and Oregon, from which he retired in 1994. He and his wife, Lila, moved to Stonewall in 1995. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1202 and was the past Post Commander. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Lila Brackeen, of the home; two daughters, Viki Jo Kaufman Davis of Nehalem, Ore. and Charlette Brackeen, Stonewall; three sons, Clifford Brackeen, Aurora, Mo., Geoffrey Brackeen and W. Mrs. Cox was born April 11, 1924, at Center to Ed and Bertha Henry Dolahan. In October 1943, Mrs. Cox enlisted with the Women’s Army Corp. She was honorably discharged March 1, 1946, with the rank of corporal. The veterans association honored her military service at the memorial service. She was married in 1946 to Oscar A. Schwartz. They were married 17 years. He died in 2001. She and Dewey Cox were divorced in 1986. For 10 years, she owned and managed Fondue Chalet in Ada. She lived several years in Kingston, but moved to Tulsa in 1999 to be near her family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma and Dorothy. Survivors include her sons David Gray, Muskogee, Geary Schwartz, Mike Schwartz and Larry Schwartz, all of Tulsa; a daughter, Diane Schwartz Milligan, Tulsa; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kessinger was born July 21, 1921, at Lick Creek, W.Va. He came to Ada from West Virginia. He was a minister and a member of the Church of Christ since 1941. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Keyser. Mr. Matthews died May 12, 2003, at a Henryetta hospital. He was born April 1, 1951, at Ada to Conley and Nita Bennett Matthews. He was a 1969 graduate of Ada High School. He and Cathy Adair were married Feb. 10, 1973, at Ada. Mr. Matthews served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and was an oil field consultant for Graco Oil and Gas in Poteau. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was affiliated with Lindsey Baptist Church in Eufaula. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandfather, Sam Matthews. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Curry died May 14, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1926, at Oilton, Creek County, to Glen Edwin and Anna Robinson Curry. He attended school at Markham and was a 1944 graduate of Cromwell High School. Mr. Curry served in the U.S. Army from June 21, 1944 through June 1946 during World War II. He served in Germany and France with an artillery division. Upon his release from the Army in 1946, Mr. Curry attended East Central University. He and Dorothy Jane Greer were married Nov. 18, 1948. Mr. Curry was retired from Curry Hardware in Beggs. He came to Ada in 1996 from Cromwell. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Jane” Curry, of the home; three sons, Gary Curry and wife, Sandra, Lary Curry and Mark Curry and wife, Janet, all of Ada; three brothers, David Curry, Wewoka, Gene Curry, Erick, and Pat Curry, Cromwell; five grandchildren, Lisa Stone, Tina Stewart, Zach Curry, Megan Curry and Justin Curry, all of Ada; and a great-granddaughter, Janelle Stone, Ada. Burial follows at East Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Roquemore died May 13, 2003, at Sulphur. She was born Aug. 26, 1905, at Lebanon, Mo., to James and Margaret Pittman Moore. She lived in Missouri until 1918. She then moved to Fitzhugh where she graduated high school. She moved to Roff after her marriage where she lived until 1940. She then moved to Oregon and worked in the shipyard until 1945 as a journeyman boilermaker. She also worked in a box factory as well in a hotel. She moved to California in 1949 and worked for Patty Woodard Original Sportswear Co., as a seamstress until her retirement. She returned to Roff in 1962. She and Thomas J. Roquemore were married Sept. 1, 1926, at Roff. He died July 1985. She was affiliated with Dolberg Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alvin; her parents; two sisters, Mayme Bernard and Dorothy Taylor; and a brother, Roma Moore. Survivors include a daughter, June Easley, Sulphur; a son, Don Roquemore, Teatahachpi, Calif.; a brother, Preston Moore, Ephrata, Wash.; a sister, Enola Engle, San Mateo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
