Stephen Nation officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Chaney died April 30, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1941, at Ada to Willie Craig and Asalee Herrin Pollock. She attended school at Latta and lived in this area all her life. She worked at Best Yet, Wrangler, Green’s Glass, and was a manager of Bargain- Mart. She was also a provider for the elderly. Mrs. Chaney attended Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Keith Frye and Robbie Frye. He attended school at Connerville and Tishomingo, as well as college at Waxahachie, Texas. He was a retired minister and pastored Assembly of God churches from Alabama to Arizona for 50 years. He married Alma Cupps. She died Dec. 9, 2000. He later married Dee Blackstock. He was preceded in death by a son, Neal McCause. She was born Aug. 28, 1943, at Maud to Elvon Leroy "Bud and Vineta Faye Hulsey McGuire. She was a longtime resident of the Konawa and Sacred Heart area and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Sacred Heart Cemetery Commission, volunteer at Asher Public School and a past member of Konawa School Board. Mrs. McCraw received a bachelor’s in elementary education from East Central University and taught school for many years. She was a bookkeeper, past owner of River Mist Convenience Store and Sooner Directional Drilling Company. She and Robert "Jerry" McCraw were married July 11, 1963, in Ada. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vineta Faye McGuire. Burial follows at Vamoosa Cemetery. Mrs. Eberle died May 4, 2004, at an Ada hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1925, at Konawa to William Homer and Ocie Ellen Moore Brewer. She and Abe Eberle were married in Arkansas in 1956. He died July 2, 1979. Mrs. Eberle moved to Konawa from California 29 years ago. She was a cook at Vamoosa Schools for more than 12 years, cooking for more than 200 kids. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Eberle was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Laura Marie Downey; and two brothers, W.H. and Ben Brewer. Survivors include a foster son Albert Lerma and wife Linda, Santa Ana, Calif.; two brothers, R.C. He died April 6, 1992, at Byng. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, an artist and a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. She came to this area in the 1960's. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Carrol K. Johnson, July 16, 1997. Mr. Stafford was a public relations and public communication professional for 43 years. He was the founder and president of National Association of Royalty Owners, headquartered in Ada, until his retirement in 2000. He and Sandra Rollins were married in 1957. Mr. Stafford was a founding member of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, and served on the board of the Easter Seals Foundation. Staff Sgt. Petty was killed in action in Iraq May 3, 2004. He was born May 5, 1975, at Ada to Army Chief Warrant Officer Ronald Petty and Janet Jones Petty. He moved from Ada to Ardmore at any early age, attending Lincoln Elementary School. He attended Byng Middle School after his family returned to Ada for two years in the late 1980s. In 1989, he moved with his family to Fort Gibson, where he graduated in 1993. He enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard on his 17th birthday, and entered the U.S. Army in November 1993. He served a one-year tour in Korea and four stateside tours, including a three-year tour as an Army recruiter in Grand Junction, Colo. In February 2003, he was assigned to the 1st Armor Division in Germany and was sent to Iraq two months later. The 12-year veteran served as a platoon sergeant for the Cavalry Scout Platoon. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, two Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals and several other medals for his service in Iraq and Korea. He married Kimberly Langton Jan. 22, 1994, at Fort Gibson. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church at Grand Junction. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gene Petty and Buell Jones. He attended Center Elementary School and graduated from Vanoss High School. He married Modena Ricketts Dec. 9, 1941, in Gaar Corner. He was a meter man for Mobil Oil Co., formerly Magnolia Oil Co., retiring in 1982 with more than 31 years of service. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Modena Garrett, of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Williamson, Houston, Texas, and Penny Andrews and husband Pat, San Antonio, Texas; brother, O. D. Mr. Shadle died May 8, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1927, at Houston to William Terence and Maye Brooks Shadle. He was a graduate of Lamar High School, Houston, North Texas State College, Denton, and Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also served as minister of music at First Baptist Church from 1963 until his retirement in 1992. He and Maxine Tankursley were married March 3, 1951, at Paris. Mr. Shadle was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alice Beth Davis. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Shadle; three children, Stan Shadle, Charlotte, N.C., Carol Beth Meyerdirk, Denton, and Joanna Toombs, Ada, Okla.; a brother, Ralph A. She was born Dec. 17, 1907, at the Bebee community, northwest of Ada, to Walter A. and Eula Crow Kirby. She lived in this area all her life and attended school at Walnut Grove and Ada High School. She and Pleas Sutton were married Nov. 30, 1927. He died in 1982. She was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Greg and Brandon Sutton. Survivors include two sons, Pleas Sutton Jr., Wichita, Kan., and Don Sutton, Ada; three brothers, J. O. Kirby, Johnny Kirby, both of Ada and Jim Kirby, Rockwall, Texas; a sister, Mabel Jones, Ada; six grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Mr. Henry died May 7, 2004, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 22, 1942, at Ada to Frank Osbin and Alma Katherine Scribner Henry. He lived most of his life in this area, attending school at Stonewall and graduating from high school at Haskell. Mr. Henry served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired from the military. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Parnell died May 9, 2004, at her home. She was born April 2, 1916, at Calumet to Charles David and Myrtle Wheeler Cox. Following the death of her mother in 1920, she lived with her aunt, Anna Knudson, of Gracemont. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1934 and from O.C.W. Girls School, Chickasha in 1941 with a bachelor of science degree in home economics. She taught school in the western part of Oklahoma for five years and then attended Colorado A&M where she obtained a master's degree. She also taught in the Houston, Texas, school system, retiring in 1975. She and R.B. Parnell were married Aug. 27, 1946, at Calument. He died Dec. 28, 1994. Mrs. Parnell was a member of the Pontotoc Teacher's Association, CEC, AAUW and Ada Council of Garden Clubs. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include three nieces, Corinne Schwandt, Ada, Myrtle Sykes, Chickasha and Juanita Muller, Carney, Neb.; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
