He also served on Pine and Coalgate School Board for several years, as well as the Coal County Election Board for more than 30 years. He and Bessie B. Hughes were married July 9, 1938, at Parker. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Riley and Bertha Mae Rogers Reed; a sister, Ruth Woods; and a brother, Raymond Reed. She was employed as a school teacher and taught at Tupelo and Coalgate, and retired as postmaster of the Coalgate Post Office. She and George B. Hill were married Sept. 19, 1943, at Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Hill, along with her husband, was the co-publisher of the Coalgate Record Register and helped initiate the volunteer program at Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor in Coalgate. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Fort Nightly Club, Coal County Genealogy Society and a former member of The American Legion. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Coalgate. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Hill; two daughters, Judith Ann and Mary Lynn; her parents, Carl R. and Linnie Culbertson; and a sister, Mary Skaggs. He was born Aug. 20, 1927, at Idabel to Harry S. and Kate Kirby Love. He graduated from Idabel High School in 1945 and attended Oklahoma State University where he received a bachelor of science degree, as well as a masters and a doctorate degrees. Dr. Love taught biology in public schools in Oklahoma and Kansas and moved to Ada in August 1967. He was a biology professor at East Central University from 1967 until 1990. He was also a veteran, serving as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He and Jane Gernand were married Dec. 22, 1952. Survivors include his wife, Jane Love, of the home; a daughter, Lisa Blankenship and her husband Dan, Loveland, Colo.; a son, Steven Love, Norman; and a grandson, Scott Blankenship, Palo Alto, Calif. The family says those who wish may make memorials to the local public library or school library of their choice. He was born Feb. 21, 1916, at El Paso, Texas, to James Ralph and Charlotte Mansfield Cissna. Soon after his birth the family moved to Oklahoma where he spent most of his 88 years. He met Elizabeth Schreck at Faith Tabernacle in Oklahoma City in 1933 and they were married there on Dec. 31, 1934. She died April 9, 1998. The couple was married for 63 years. The Rev. Cissna began preaching at the age of 15 in Oklahoma City at the old Barnes School and at Stone Mission. At 17 he was pastor of West Side and then in Bailey. He served as pastor of many churches across Oklahoma, including in Rose Hill, Carmen, Konawa, Tahlequah, and Blackwell, as well as in Kansas, Mississippi and Florida. He founded Bethel Assembly in Oklahoma City and served at Faith Tabernacle in 1950 before accepting a position at Home Gardens, now Calvary Temple, in Tulsa where he served for nearly 26 years. He was in Ada for 10 years before moving to Wichita, Kan., and Pensacola, Fla., to minister. His last position as pastor was at Sulphur in 2003. The Rev. Cissna had been ordained by the Assemblies of God since 1940. He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Enid, Pastoral Care Course at Hillcrest Hospital, and took extensive studies in ministering to the sick and bereaved at Oral Roberts University. He also held revivals across America, served as Chaplain for Hillcrest Hospital, directed Tulsa Workers Training Conference for 14 years, initiated Ministerial Fellowship in Ada, and evangelized in Africa. He had spent the last three years living in Pauls Valley, moving there from Gulf Breeze, Fla. In addition to his wife, the Rev. Cissna was preceded in death by his only brother, Lawrence Cissna. Survivors include three daughters, Christina Broxson and husband John, Gulf Breeze, Fla., Fran Butler and husband Charles of Pauls Valley, and Peggy Heim, Glendale, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Jo Cissna; nine grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Grindstaff moved to Oklahoma City to become president of the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan in 1937. He retired 34 years later, and served 13 years longer as the chairman of the board. He still was developing property until his death. He was a deacon in the Baptist church for 30 years and served for many years on the Baptist Foundation Board, holding several offices. He was preceded in death by his first wife Nina; a son, Bob Grindstaff; his parents; two sisters; and three brothers. After she retired from teaching, she was employed by the Pontotoc County Election Board. She and James W. Stettler were married Aug. 19, 1947, at Centrahoma. He died April 12, 1993, at Ada. Mrs. Stettler was a longtime active member of Colbert Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for many years.
