Puckett Cross at Blue. He was a farmer who moved to Stratford from Artesia, N.M., in 1979. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He and Lou Calhoun were married in October 1958 at Lovington, N.M. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a stepson. Survivors include his wife, Lou Cross, Stratford; two sons; three daughters; two brothers; one sister; two stepsons; and three step-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945, Co. B Tank Destroyer Battalion. He served in the European and African Campaign and was awarded the Bronze Star. He married Gertrude Opanowicz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Duke, who died during World War II; and four sisters, Beatrice Short, Catherine Delibera, Doris Murphy and Dorothy McNeill. He graduated from Stonewall High School and was employed with the State of Oklahoma Highway Department until his retirement. He later began a second career with Dalmarc Sign Company, where he retired at the age of 89. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Europe as an ambulance driver. He and Millie Scott were married June 7, 1942, at Ada. She received two master’s degrees from East Central University in special education and school counseling. She also received a license for professional counseling. She taught school in New Mexico and Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. Later, she taught special education at Graham School in Wewoka. Currently, she was employed with Families First in Ada. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She and Truman Holland were married Oct, 20, 1928. He died in 1964. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita June Tull, March 22, 1989. Burial follows at 3:30 p.m. at McGee Cemetery, Stratford. Mr. Cosby was born Aug. 14, 1913, at Stratford to Arch and Melinda Cosby. He and Lorene Shirley were married Aug. 14, 1913. They had been married for 70 years. For a time they lived in Stratford and then later relocated to Oklahoma City. Mr. Cosby began his work career forming, then roofing and eventually establishing his own company. Upon retirement, he returned to Stratford and attended church in Ada. In 1994, he returned to Oklahoma City, where he was a member of Southwest Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Julia Cosby, Ella Carter and Almeda Dickson; four brothers, Wilbur, Ray, Finis and Stell Cosby; and a grandson, Michael Thompson. She attended school at Fairlee, Texas, Coleman and Clarita. She moved to Norman in 1998. She and Charles Oliver Riley were married Nov. 29, 1924, at Coalgate. He died Oct 20, 1979, at Coalgate. Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Ada. She had previously been an active member of First Baptist Church in Stonewall. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Lyn Riley in 1981; three sisters, Lillian Davis, Arlene Riley and Lucille Bryan; and three brothers, Travis, Preston and Homer Savage. Survivors include two sons, Duane Riley, Moore, and Jim Riley, Norman; two sisters, Helen Harrell, Mobile, Ala., and Marie Vestal, Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-graildchildren. Mrs. Henderson was a domestic worker and a member of Athens Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Inzion "Henry" Henderson, of the home; and two sisters, Eula Carter, San Francisco, Calif., and Bobby Jean Scoby, Sacramento, Calif. --- CLAUDE HENNESSEE LAWTON - Services for Claude Hennessee, 90, Lawton, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Paradise Valley Baptist Church, north of Lawton, the Rev. Donny Crittendon officiating. Burial follows at Paradise Valley Cemetery. Mr. Hennessee died Aug. 28, 2003, at Ada. He was born March 29, 1913, at Holiday to William Patrick and Allie Frances Carter Hennessee. He grew up and attended school in Holiday. He began working for the Lawton Fire Department in 1942 and later joined the U.S. Army from 1943-1945. He returned to the fire department, retired in 1962 and relocated to Paradise Valley in 1962. He and Shirley Louella Metcalf were married at Lawton Sept. 28, 1932. She died April 25, 1993. He is preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Coletta Allison and husband John P., and Claudia Eschler, all of Ada; a son, Patrick Hennessee and wife Renee, Broken Arrow; a sister, Irene Askew, Lawton; seven grandchildren, Mike Eschler, Marla Rieg, Marcella Olson, Scott Allison, Kelley Isom, Sean Hennessee and Kyle Hennessee; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor died Aug.28, 2003. She was born Nov. 19, 1915, at Roth to Thomas and Sally Jane Ready. She and Allen B. Taylor were married May 14,1951. They lived in and around the Union City and Yukon area for most of their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen B. Taylor, a daughter, Donita Pittman; her mother and father; two brothers; two half-brothers; and two greatgrandsons. Survivors include her children, Evelyn Phillips and husband Gene, Yukon, Geneva Taylor and husband Jimmy, Amarillo, Texas; Bill Pittman and wife Lena, Geary; seven stepchildren; a brother, William Howard Ready, Ada; a sister Nellie Davis and husband Joe T., Marlow; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 19 great- great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.
