Ferguson, 66, Ada, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, the Rev. Stephen Nation officiating. Mr. Ferguson died Nov. 26, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born March 27, 1937, at Ada to Collis and Eula Bolin Ferguson. He attended local schools and was employed with the City of Ada Street Department for many years. He later was a custodian for the Pontotoc County Courthouse. He won the 1954 State Horseshoe Championship and the National Championship in 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include a son, James Ferguson, Bloomington, Ind.; a daughter, Lisa Boswell, Bloomington, Ind.; and four grandchildren, all from Bloomington, Ind. - Criswell Funeral Home --- JEAN HUGHES SULPHUR — Services for Jean Hughes, 72, Sulphur, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Orange, 92, Cache, formerly of Ada, are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Philemon Baptist Church, Ada, the Rev. C.R. Hill officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call from 12-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Orange died Nov. 26, 2003, at his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1911, at Chickasha to Hayes and Bertha Orange. He came to Cache in 1995 from Ada. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Chickasha and worked as a mechanic and bus driver for Oklahoma Transportation Co. in Oklahoma City. He moved to Ada in August 1936. He worked for Ford Motor Co. in Ada and taught auto mechanics at Byng Schools. He was a qualified driver with a CDL and was a member of Reaper Baptist Church in Ada. He and Alberta Murphy were married June 19, 1936, at Lawton. Survivors include two sons, J.W. McCarthy, Arlington, Va., and Steve Dawson, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Betty Dawson, Oklahoma City; a sister, Hazel I. Smith and husband Horace, Cache; a special great nephew, David Smith; a host of nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren. Jefferson Funeral Home Inc., Lawton --- DENNY BINGHAM ADA — Services for Denton K. Bingham, 66, Ada, were 10 a.m. today at Criswell Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Dan Cusher officiated. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery, Stonewall. Full military honors were conducted at the cemetery by Tinker Honor Guard. Mr. Bingham died Nov. 26, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born July 1, 1937, at Ada to Sam and Odie Kious Bingham. He was raised in Henryetta and returned to Ada in 1978. He attended grade school at Wilson and graduated from Wilson High School in Pawnee. He was a Baptist. He and Janet Helen Lee were married March 4, 1958, at Jerome, Idaho. Mr. Bingham enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1955, retiring as a technical sergeant after 20 years of service. He also worked as a truck driver for various companies, including H.R. Hill and Osage Oil. He later owned and operated his own truck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Odie Bingham. Survivors include his wife, Janet Bingham, of the home; five sons, Gary Bingham, Konawa, Steve Bingham, Scranton, Ark., David Bingham, Ada, Doug Bingham, Paris, Ark., and Jeff Bingham and wife Mary, Ada; a step-brother, Sammy Bingham, Ada; nine granddaughters, Tara Bingham, Megan Bingham, Sheena Bingham, Jenifer Bingham, Holly Ann Bingham, Kendra Bingham, Amber Bingham, Madison Bingham and Crissa Bingham; and two great-granddaughters, Destiny Bingham and Hailey Bingham. Burial follows at High Hill Cemetery. Mr. Burris died Nov. 28, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1958, at Oklahoma City to Leamon Albertson and Sebena Burris. He lived in this area most of his life, attending grade school in Tupelo and graduating from Tupelo High School. He graduated from CLEET school on Nov. 12, 1998. He served on the Stonewall Police Department for the past 11 years and was the police chief for the past four-and-a-half years. He was affiliated with Stonewall First Baptist Church and was a member of the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police. Survivors include a son, Jeremy Burris, Stonewall; a daughter, Ashley Burris, Ada; his mother, Sebena Burris, Ada; and three brothers, Melvin Burris, Allen, Phillip Burris, Ada, and William Burris, Oklahoma City. He attended Hilltop School at Pauls Valley State School. He was employed with the Department of Human Services through New Horizons Workshop. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She was born July 21, 1929, at Sonora, Texas, to Clifton Carlyle and Audrey Merle Archer Johnson. She came to this area about 1960 from Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked at the Valley View Regional Hospital cafeteria for 12 years and was a cook at McLish School for 12 years, retiring in 1986. She and Allen A. Owens Jr. were married in 1950. He died Oct. 6, 1988. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassie Renee Sliger. Survivors include two sons, Allen A. Dan Fullerton officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Dyer died Nov. 27, 2003, at Seminole. He was born Jan. 17, 1905, at Heard to James Edgar and Maggie Blackburn Dyer. He attended grade school at Butner and graduated from Butner High School. He was the assistant post master for the Ada Post Office, retiring in 1970. He was a member and past president of the Ada Rotary Club and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He married Jewell Tucker. She preceded him in death on June 11, 1988. Survivors include a son, Robert Keith Dyer, Ada; two granddaughters, Kay Dyer, Earlsboro, and Rebecca Dyer, Terre Haute, Ind.; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Swearingen, Earlsboro; and a niece, Mary Louise Bryant and husband Gerald, Edmond. George Carson officiating. Mr. Cushman died Dec. 2, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1931, at Ada to Roy E. and Evelyn Turnpaugh Cushman. He attended grade school at Vanoss and graduated from Vanoss High School. He worked in maintenance with the state Department of Transportation for 15 years, retiring in 1993. He married Vera Miller. She died July 14, 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Frantz, Oklahoma City; a son, Paul Cushman Jr., of the home; two sisters, Betty Smith and Mary Cushman, both of Ada; five brothers, Royce Cushman, Kingston, Don Cushman, Seminole, Bobby Cushman, Scotty Cushman and Jackie Cushman, all of Ada; and a granddaughter, Erika Frantz, Oklahoma City. He was a train car mover and retired from Ideal Cement Plant after 39 years of service. He was in the U.S. Army and served in World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was affiliated with First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He and Pauline Abbott were married Oct. 5, 1946, at Roff. She died Sept. 17, 2003, at Ada. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Dew; two brothers, Forrest Dew and Orban Dew; and two sisters, Gladys Frick and Ruth Standridge. Survivors include a son, David Dew, Ada; a daughter, Paulette Fullingim, Ada; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He and Minnie Carter were married in 1944. She grew up in McCurtain County. She also lived in the Duncan area and graduated from Duncan High School. She also graduated from Hills Business College. She came to Sulphur in the early-1950s and was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Melvin A. Wade Aug. 22, 1933, at Wellington, Kan. He died Aug. 16, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Doris Ann Wade and Donna Henderson; a son, Tom Wade; two brothers, Lon and Dale Hill; and a sister, Lela Brown. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Wade and his wife Glenda, Sulphur, and Rex Wade, Ada; a sister, Joy Walker, Granbury, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was born May 23, 1925. She and Herbert Lee Kinsey were longtime residents of Vanoss, Okla., where Mr. Kinsey was superintendent and Mrs. Kinsey was a teacher in the Vanoss School system for 14 years. After relocating from Oklahoma to Las Vegas, Nev., the Kinseys continued teaching school until their retirement. They then returned to Oklahoma. Mr. Kinsey preceded her in death in Commerce, Okla. Following her husband’s death, she relocated to Salt Lake City. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kinsey was preceded in death by a daughter, LaJuan Cook.
