Trett, 51, Moore, formerly of Dougherty, are 2 p.m. today at Dougherty First Baptist Church, Willard "Chopper" McCartney and Harry Smith officiating. Burial follows at Dougherty Cemetery. Mr. Trett died Dec. 16, 2003, at an Oklahoma City veteran’s hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1952, at Dougherty to Doris Howard and Opal Marie Callis Trett. He grew up in the Dougherty and Sulphur areas and graduated from Sulphur High School. He served with the Oklahoma Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict from Jan. 8, 1973, until Jan. 1, 1979, and was discharged with the rank of E5 Buck Sergeant. He was awarded the Expert Badge with Rifle Bar. He trained and raced quarter horses. He and his family moved to Tulsa in 1976 when he became employed with Tulsa Rock/Anchorstone Co. They lived there for the next 21 years before moving to Davis in 1999. In May 2002, the family moved to Moore. He was a member of the Tiawaha Community Baptist Church of Claremore and the Horseman’s Association and was Union Steward for the Local 627 Operating Engineers from 1977 to 2001. He and Shirley Ann Henry were married Jan. 16, 1970, at Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Roger Thomas "Tommy" Trett. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; a daughter, Vickie Llynn Trett-Charles, Collinsville; four brothers, Don Robert Trett, Broken Arrow, Arnold "Fat" Trett, Sulphur, Joe Trett, Wynnewood, and Harlie Trett, Allen; a sister, Gail Todd, Connerville; three grandchildren, Shelby, Trett and Kenady Charles, all of Collinsville; and many other family members and friends. He was born July 24, 1928, at Center to George Curtis Wells and Pearl VanBuskirk. He graduated from Vanoss High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a jet engine mechanic and instructor at Tinker Air Force Base for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Ada Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Mason. He attended Worstel Church of God of Prophecy. He and Helen Reed Morris were married April 26, 1985, at Las Vegas, Nev. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Frank Morris; his parents; a sister; and a brother. Survivors include his wife, Helen Wells, of the home; a son, Danny Morris and wife Karynn, Davis; a brother-in-law, J.W. Law, Gaar Corner; a nephew; a great-niece; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial follows in Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Dec. 18, 2003, at a Norman hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1928, at Maysville to Alva S. and Cornelia Stockton Austin. She lived in this area most of her life and attended Maysville schools, where she graduated from high school in 1945. She attended East Central College in Ada and was a receptionist for Dr. T.L. Lester, an Ada optometrist. She was a secretary at ICU at Valley View, secretary at Moon-Baker Insurance Agency. In 1976, she started Billie Smith’s Shelter Insurance on West Main in Ada, which she owned until 1991. She was the first female Shelter agent in Oklahoma. Since retiring in 1991, she has owned Billie’s Books on West Main in Ada. She married Roy K. "Ted" Smith Sept. 6, 1947, in Clovis N.M. She was born June 24, 1923, at Hicks, La., to Steven and Nena Prince Deason. She attended grade school at Pitkin, La., and graduated from Pitkin, La., High School. She moved to Atwood in 1958 and she later moved to Ada in 1964. Previously, she lived in Roff since 1992. She operated numerous restaurants and Cafe’s in Ada and Roff including Dixie Coffee Shop, the Aldridge Coffee Shop and Roff Cafe. Later, after her retirement, she sold Avon and fresh vegetables from their garden. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Roff. She and Shelton Curtis were married Sept. 11, 1947, at Oxley, Ark. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edmond Deason, Vess Deason and George Deason. He attended school at Cobb High School and graduated in 1945. He also attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He and Mary Lou Kelley Wells were married March 17, 1950, at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant. He was a superintendent at Mobile Materials and the co-owner of Wells Construction. He was also a member of the Ada Masonic Lodge 119, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the VFW, Chickasaw Honor Guard, and an honored member of the Chickasaw Tribal Legislature from Oct. 1, 1992, to Sept. 30, 1998. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Y. Wells and Delta Harlin Wells; and three brothers, Billy A. Wells, John P. Wells and Ben D. Wells. Survivors include include his wife, Mary Lou Wells, of the home; a son, Kelley Wells, Ada; two daughters, Deanna Wells Oxley, Flower Mound, Texas, and Gayla Wells Callaway, Ada; a sister, Theresa O. Pearce, Tulsa; two brothers, Robert R. Wells, Houston, Texas, and G. He served as a minister and preached mainly for Churches of Christ in this area from 1955 until 1982. He married Opal M. Robertson June 11, 1932. She died Sept. 29, 1992. He married Ethel Loraine Laffery May 4, 1993. She died Feb. 10, 1999. Survivors include a son, Donald Lee Robertson, Magalia, Calif.; a brother, Merle Reed, Ada; a sister, Juanita Williams, Ozark, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
