Greg Wheat officiating. Mr. Cole died Feb. 25, 2005, at Oklahoma City. He was born April 14, 1939, at Pauls Valley to Roland and Marie Shugart Cole. He graduated from Stratford High School, attended East Central University, Ada, and Los Angeles Drama Academy, Los Angeles, Calif. He performed in several theater productions in Los Angeles. Later, he returned to Oklahoma City where he established and was the co-owner of Aviation Insurance Group. He married Maude “Dodie” Kelly-Cole at Miami, Okla., on May 16, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Marie Cole, and a brother, Jerry Lee Cole. Survivors include his wife, Maude “Dodie” Kelly-Cole, Oklahoma City; two sons, Tony Cole, Lexington, and Bill Cole Jr., Noble; two brothers, Gary Cole, Norman, and Larry Cole, Ada; a sister, Betty Townsend, Ada; two stepsons, Colin Kelly and Buddy Kelly; three nieces; three nephews; and five grandchildren, Emily Cole, Noah Cole, Chris Cole, Joshua Cole and ShiAnn Cole. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Holt died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Ada to Louis G. and Juanita Price Nesbitt. She graduated from Ada High School in 1957, received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from East Central University in 1960 and received a master’s degree in education from ECU. Mrs. Holt was an elementary school teacher for 35 years. She began her teaching career in Midwest City where she taught for one year. She then moved back to Ada to teach at Wanette for one year. She taught in the Roff Public school system for nine years and spent the rest of her years in the Ada Public School System, two years at Irving school and the remainder at Hayes Elementary in Ada. She married Jim C. Holt on July 3, 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada, a member of a Birthday group for more than 30 years and a member of Tanti Study Club. Survivors include her husband, Jim Holt, of the home; one daughter, Stacy Foshee and her husband David, Teller, Alaska; one son, Brent Holt and his wife Janna, Pauls Valley; seven grandchildren, Jake Foshee, Benjamin Foshee, Zoe Foshee of Teller, Alaska, Rebekah Holt, Corey Holt, Brandon Holt and Britteny Holt, all of Pauls Valley; one aunt, Naydine Richardson, Lubbock, Texas and a niece, Janis Abbott and her husband Paul, Little Elm, Texas. Mrs. Berger died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at her home. She was born June 27, 1917 at Columbus, Montana to Clarence Hicks, Jr. and Mildred Kelso Hicks. She attended school in Montana and graduated from Ponca City High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. She married Dr. E. Stanley Berger on March 19, 1944 at the St. Paul’s Cathedral Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker, a member of All Souls Episcopal Church, a member of the Faculty Wives Club of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she served as Past- President. She was a Director of Sunday School with All Souls Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City, and a volunteer with the Mercy Hospital and University Hospital Gift Shop. She moved to Ada in September 1999 from Oklahoma City. Survivors include her husband, Dr. E. She attended school at Sand Springs and graduated from Ada High School. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from East Central University. She married Jack Walton Fowler Feb. 21, 1958 in Ada. He died Jan. 11, 1992. Mrs. Fowler was an Ada High School teacher where she taught typing, business math and yearbook, retiring in 1985 after 17 years of service, she had also taught school at Pontotoc, Tishomingo, Paoli, Roff and Byng. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher, she was the pianist for the Mature Melody Makers and the music and publications secretary from 1985 until 1993. She was a member of the Pontotoc County Retired Teachers Association where she was past treasurer, chairman of the membership committee and also prepared the yearbook for several years. Survivors include a son, Grant Fowler, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Glenda King, Ada and Audrey Mapp, Ada; her mother, Merle Gammill, Ada; and several nieces and nephews. Later, he was a truck driver and assistant manager for an Oklahoma grocery chain. He moved to California in 1943, working for Reichhold Chemical, retiring in management in 1979. He and his wife moved to Grass Valley in 1979. He married Marguerite Hunt Jan. 17, 1935. He was preceded in death by a son; four sisters; and a brother. A reception will follow immediately following the service. Mrs. Hudson died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Feb.19, 1916, at Coalgate to Sam A. and Mary R. "Mae" Linton Azlian. She came to Ada in 1922 from Coal County, attended school at Willard elementary school and graduated from Horace Mann High School. She received a Teaching Degree from East Central State Teacher's College in 1934. She married Marion Hudson on Jan. 11, 1936, at Fort Smith, Ark. He died in 1991. Mrs. Hudson started teaching school in 1948 at Francis, later at Stonewall, Irving grade school, Ada Jr. High and retired from teaching from the Byng School System in 1978. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Barry Hudson and wife Laura, Edmond, and Mike Hudson, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Kent Hudson and wife Kendal, Tulsa, Kirk Hudson and wife Kelly, Flint, Texas and Susan Nickish and husband Kirk, Milburn Beach, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren. After retirement, he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. Later, he worked as an auditor for the state of Oklahoma. He married Mary Francis Miller. He was born Aug. 31, 1946, at Washington, D.C., to George Henry and Dorothy Mac Lewis Dodson. Mr. Dodson lived most of his life at Seminole. He moved with his father, who was in the U.S. Army, to Germany in 1960. He worked for his grandparents, C.E. "Charley" and Opal McDaniel, at McDaniel's Casing Pulling from 19661977. He was a firefighter at Seminole from January 1977 until he retired as a captain in January1999. Mr. McDaniel was also a respiratory therapist since 1986. He had worked at Valley View Regional Hospital at Ada, Seminole Hospital and Mission Hill and Unity North hospitals in Shawnee. He was a member of the Seminole and Oklahoma Jaycees. He had also served on the Seminole Civil Defense and, auxiliary police force. He was a scuba diver for Seminole County. He had been one of the organizers of the Seminole Gospel Singing Association for the last 34 years. He married Linda Sue Lemmings Dodson Sept. 4, 1965, at Seminole. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry and Dorothy Mae Dodson, and his grandparents, C.E. "Charley" and Opal McDaniel. Survivors include his wife, Linda Dodson, of the home; two daughters, Roberta Moore and husband Greg, Yukon, and Robin McCoy, of the home; a brother, Tony M. She married Casper Duffer on Jan. 13, 1933, in Ada, Oklahoma. He died June 9, 1993. Mrs. Duffer was a teacher for 31 years. She taught at Carr City, Fitzhugh, Ada High School and Latta. She taught elementary school and home economics. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a children’s Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Gideon’s. She was also a volunteer at McCalls Chapel School. Survivors include a son, William R. Robert Brown will officiate. Mr. Teel died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Tehachapi. He was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Burksville, Ky., to Luther and Bertha Teel. Much of his early life was spent in Oklahoma. He married Edith Teel Feb. 19, 1948, at Pauls Valley, Okla. She died in 1991. They moved to the Tehachapi area in the early 1950s. Mr. Teel was employed with Monolith Cement Plant, retiring after 35 years of service. Mr. Teel served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Drafted to semi-pro baseball play, Mr. Klepper returned home to run the family gas station. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was also a member of the Navy semi-pro baseball team. After his discharge he returned to Oklahoma, serving as the first commander of the American Legion post in Lexington. He owned and worked in several occupational fields in Oklahoma. He owned grocery stores in Lexington and Ada, a dairy in Ada, owner-operator of a fleet of semi-trucks, drove a truck for Oklahoma Publishing Company and was a car salesman. Mr. Klepper and his wife owned M and M Klepper Real Estate in Purcell. He had attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell for more than 30 years. Mr. Strickland was a rig builder and an iron worker until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Stratford Free Will Baptist Church. He died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at a local hospital. He moved to Washington State with his parents, and graduated from Everett High School in 1954. He earned a ba in music education from the University of Washington, and taught music at West Seattle High School and Asa Mercer Middle School, before becoming supervisor of student placement for the Seattle School District. He received his master's degree in education from Seattle University. Mr. Mundy retired in 1988, but served as a consultant, in his former position, for another four years. He married Donna Bethel Thorp in 1969, and they lived in Auburn, Lake Tapps, and Renton, Wash., with their two sons, Paris and Troy. Mr. Mundy was an accomplished musician, and as a student at the University of Washington, played with the Everett Symphony. He played French horn, trumpet, violin, and saxaphone. He entertained in local clubs and lodges for decades. He was also a skilled whistler, and competed internationally. He and his wife toured the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia with the Duwamish Dixieland Band. Until shortly before his death, they performed as members of City Lights Jazz Band. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Hardy Mundy and Nellie Roberta Mundy; an aunt, Neva Kennon; and a son, Glen Mundy. Survivors include his wife Donna; sons Paris and Troy Thorp, and Sean and Tim Mundy; grandchildren, Dylan, Isaac, Jeffrey, Kelsey, and Tyler Thorp, and Melanie Mundy; daughter-in-law, Melinda Thorp,and numerous other friends and family. She was born Feb. 5, 1911, at Stonewall, to John Hershel and Cecelia Burris McKoy. After graduating from Stonewall High School, she received her bachelor of arts and science degrees from East Central Teachers College, Ada, and then obtained her master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. Mrs. Simonds started her teaching career when she was 19, teaching both elementary and high school at Stonewall. She married Isaac E. Simonds in April, 1932, and the couple moved to Bowlegs, where for the next four years she was the principal of Allen School and worked with the Seminole Indian children. Later she was re-assigned as a third grade teacher at Taylor School where her husband was the principal. They later moved to Clovis, N.M., where she was an elementary school teacher and was assigned to train student teachers from the University of New Mexico and St. Joseph's College. In 1941, her husband joined the Army Air Corps, and they moved to Fort Bliss, Texas. After several re- assignments, they moved to Dodge City, Kan. where she worked at the air base. After military service, they moved to Albuquerque, N.M., which became their permanent home. She retired from the Albuquerque school system. She later moved to Oklahoma City and was resident of Epworth Villa. Mrs. Simonds served as president of the Albuquerque Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and helped sponsor the organization of the Beta Chapter. At the University of Oklahoma, she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honorary art fraternity. At East Central Teachers College, she was a member of Pi Kappa Sigma, a sorority which later became Chi Omega sorority to which she was initiated at the age of 83. Mrs. Simonds was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isaac Simonds in 1979; two brothers George Colbert McKoy, and John McKoy; and one sister, Lanelle Bassett. He and his family pioneered a work among the K'ek'chi Indians of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, and served as superintendent of the mission work in Guatemala and Belize, Central America. After his missionary career, he pastored Bennet Church of the Nazarene, organized and pastored First Spanish Church of the Nazarene, Oklahoma City, and was on staff at Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, Midwest City, and Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Oklahoma City. He worked as a counselor and supervisor for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation for 31 years retiring in 1996 at age 76. Mrs. Whelchel was a clerk in a drug store and restaurant, most recently, she was employed with home healthcare. He married Pat Dunn on Jan. 3, 1992, at Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. Doyle was a truck driver and also was employed with the oil and gas production industry. He served in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Brock married Virginia Lois Harris on Jan. 26, 1946, at Gainesville, Texas. She died Feb. 6, 1984. He was an equipment operator-maintainer operator for Pontotoc County, District #3 until his retirement. He was formerly a ranch hand for many years. Mr. Brock was a member of Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 until 1949.
