She was born April 19, 1938, at Jesse to Frank and Murtle Gipson Carpenter. She attended school at Jesse, Hugo and the Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kans. She was self-employed as a seamstress and attended Ada First Indian Baptist Church. She married Jimmy Tekubie, who died in the early 1980s. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Albert Carpenter and Benjamin Carpenter. Survivors include a daughter, Emmaline Carpenter, Coalgate; four sisters, Pauline Brown, Harden City, and Dorene Carpenter, Albuquerque, N.M., Paula Carney and Mary Jane McClure, both of Coalgate; two brothers, Anderson Shields, Wewoka, and George Carpenter, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. She attended school at Carter Seminary and moved to Dallas in 1958. She married Sando B. Alexander in 1944. He died Aug. 24, 1969. Mrs. Alexander was an assembly line worker on semi-conductors for Texas Instruments until her retirement. She was a member of Red Springs Methodist Church and a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He graduated from Ada High School in 1976 and received an industrial arts degree from East Central University. Mr. Braddy formerly owned a new car dealership in Ada and was employed by Ram Jack Systems Distribution. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ada, and was a participant in a monthly businessmen’s bible study group. He spent several years on the professional motorcycle racing circuit as one of the top 100 racers in the country. He earned the number 87 from the American Motorcycle Association. McNutt Aug. 13, 1939, south of Stuart. Mrs. McNutt was an LPN, an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a member of the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a member of the Home and Community Education Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Jones; and two sisters, Luceal Jones and Helen Jones. Mr. Hopkins died July 7, 2005, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born July 19, 1950, at Shawnee, to Benjamin Franklin Hopkins and Relya Mae Roberts Hopkins. He married Pamela Fay Lee Hopkins May 7, 1993, at Vanburen, Ark. He was a rig superintendent, and trouble- shooter for Nabors Drilling Company, Tyler, Texas, covering areas in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Maud. He attended Seminole State College and East Central University on a baseball scholarship, and also helped coach little league baseball. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother-in-law, Marie Lee in 1990; his step-father, Doug Templeton; and one grandson, Richard James Boren in 1995. She was a past president of Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Auxiliary and past President of the Ada Parent Teachers Association, as well as being active in a wide variety of other civic endeavors. He served as an Air Force B-25 pilot in the Southwest Pacific in World War II, assigned to the 42nd Bomb Group, 13th Air Force. In the Korean War, he was a meteorologist with the 20th Weather Squadron attached to the 3rd Bomb Group, 5th Air Force as staff weather officer. In that capacity he flew combat missions as A-26 pilot in Korea. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, the Commendation Ribbon, the American, Philippine and Korean Presidential Unit Citations, and many theater and service decorations. He was a retired major in the U.S. Air Force. In Ardmore and Dallas, he was an investment broker affiliated with the firm Eppler, Guerin and Turner. Upon retirement, he served as a tour guide representing Golden Bear Travel, ocean cruise specialists, of Novato, Calif. He was an active participant in Ardmore Little Theater, served as fund drive chairman of Ardmore United Way, was a member of Ardmore Rotary Club, and served on the board of trustees of the First Presbyterian Church. He died May, 1990. She was the owner and operator of Toot's Bar-B-Que for 35 years. Previously, she was employed with Blue Bell for nine years. Mr. Little married Mary Louise Osborne Sept. 13, 1942, at Ada. He grew up in the newspaper business, first joining the Ada Evening News as a member of the advertising staff, then becoming business manager, and taking over as publisher in 1966, after the death of his father, W.D. Little, Sr., founder of the newspaper. He retired in 1982. In 1954 he was elected as president of the Ada Chamber of Commerce and maintained close ties with them throughout his career. He later served as president of the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, served as a board member for Valley View Regional Hospital for 25 years, and was a board member of the O.G.&E. board of directors. He was also a board member and chairman for the Home Federal Savings and Loan Association, and a key player in the establishment of the Social Services Center, Ada. He was a board member and one of the founders of the Science and Natural Resources Foundation, a founder of Ada News-Sooner State Tennis Tournament. He was active in the affairs of the Oklahoma Press Association and Associated Press, and was a board member of the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Louie died July 26, 2005, at an Ada hospital. He was born July 10, 1962, at Seminole, to Cecil Ray Jackson and Cora Mae Louie. He graduated from New Lima High School in 1980, and attended Seminole Junior College for two years. He moved to Ada from Wewoka in 1989. He worked for Ward’s Construction for numerous years. He married Donna Carrethers Nov. 23, 2002, at Ada. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Chanelle Lee; and both of his grandfathers. Melvin Brooking officiating. Mrs. McEuin died July 28, 2005, at Ada. She was born March 18, 1926, at Stratford, to John Stephen and Mabel Effie Laurent Bragg. She married Robert McEuin Nov. 27, 1942, at McDermitt, Nev. She was a homemaker and lived in the Stratford area for the past 60 years. She was a member of Galey Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Thomas Steven McEuin; eight brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Ellen Jacques, Lake Lure, N.C., Janey Evans, Cottenwood, Ariz., and Robert White, Austin, Texas; one sister, Nadine Moody, Ashland, Ky.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Redman died July 28, 2005, at Lawton. He was born Sept. 5, 1912, at Pauls Valley, to Elbert L. and Ethel Bennett Redman. He graduated from Aylesworth High School in 1932. He married Thelma Lucretia Wallace May 29, 1932, at Madill. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. After the war, the family moved to Ada where he was employed by the Oklahoma State Highway Department. In 1965 the family moved to a farm east of Stratford, and owned and operated a grocery store before retiring. He was also in the cattle business until moving to Ada in 2002. Mr. Redman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stratford where he served as deacon, church training director, and usher. In March of 2005 he and his wife moved to a health care facility in Lawton. Survivors include his wife; one son, Tommy Redman and wife Carol, Ada; two daughters, Pat Blackburn and husband Bill, Lawton, and Mary Emerson and husband Dean, Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great- grandchildren. Bearers are Ottie Smith, Don Morrison, Eldon Lee, Kenneth Keel, Connie Mercer and Travis Lambert. She was born July 8, 1960, at Buffalo to Jesse Newberry Sr. and Kay Cline Newberry. She lived in the Stonewall and Tupelo areas all her life. She graduated from Tupelo High School and attended East Central University. She was employed at Pre-Paid Legal, then later with the Tupelo schools in the cafeteria. Ms. Newberry attended the Church of God. Survivors include a son, Jonathan Newberry, Tupelo; her father, Jesse Newberry Sr., Tampa, Fla.; four brothers, Al Gatlin, Oklahoma City, Jesse Newberry Jr., Tampa, Fla., Rance Garrett and Joe Bob Garrett, both of Idaho; three sisters, Bridget Alm, Meeker, Vicki Stewart, McLoud, and Tonya Fatih, Tampa, Fla. She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, Gordon Gatlin. Bearers will be Harland Stonecipher, Allen Stonecipher, Paul Fortner, Kenny Fortner, Alan Fortner, and Earl Jones.
