Burial will follow at the Carpitcher Family Cemetery at Wolf. Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. A wake service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. A wake will be held at Seminole Indian Baptist Church from 4 p.m. Tuesday until service time Wednesday. Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at a Dallas hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1957, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joel P. and Katy Carpitcher Davis. He graduated from Bowlegs High School. Mr. Davis was an electrician and carpenter for the Seminole Nation. He was ordained a minister at Okmulgee Baptist Church and formerly served as minister at several area churches. Mr. Davis was the assistant manager for Helping Hands Outreach Center in Ada, serving for several years. He also served in the Oklahoma National Guard. Survivors include three brothers, Jackie Freland Davis, Victor Scott Underhill and Tyree Lee Underhill, all of Ada; one sister, Kary Jayne Underhill, Konawa; an aunt, Virginia Cosar, Konawa; an uncle, Jackie Carpitcher, Wolf; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristi Davis and his mother, Katy Cass. Bearers will be Dennis Eddington, Thomas Tyler, Charlie Jack Harjo, Michael Everett Walker, Marques Walker and Travis Stewart Scott. Mr. Walston died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at a Tulsa hospital. He was born March 6, 1931, at Steedman, Okla., to Ben and Nona Reynolds Walston. He was raised in this area until he went into the service. He was a tube bender in a heat exchanger shop. He served in the U. S. Army from 1951 - 1953. Survivors include a son, Jerry Walston and wife Erin, Tulsa; granddaughters, Haley Walston and Gracie Walston; grandson, Garett Walston; sister, Iva May Brown, Garland, Texas; brother-in- law, Elmo Cross and wife Loyce, Allen; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. John Breon officiating. Mr. Woodson died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at his home. Mr. Woodson was born May 18, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., to Blake and Julia Rice Woodson. He attended school in Turner, Kan., and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955 in Kansas City, Kan. He was stationed on the USS Deeley Destroyer Escort where he worked as a signalman. He was honorably discharged in 1959 in Rhode Island. He later enlisted in the Naval Reserves. He was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1963. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 1980. In 1997, Mr. Woodson married Clara Hancock in Eufaula. He was an active member of the American Miniature Horse Association and Oklahoma Miniature Horse Club. He and his wife Clara were partners in the Woodson’s Miniature Horse Farm. Survivors include his wife, Clara, of the home; daughters, Debbie Vinyard, Olathe, Kan., Diane Pfeiffer and husband Craig, Olathe, Kelley Miller of Apolis, Kan., Kennetta Holder and husband Butch of Texarkana, Ark., Elaine Harris of Dallas, Texas, and Suzanne Pacheco of Peculiar, Mo.; brother, Mike and Marietta Woodson, Omaha, Neb.; and sister, Mary and George Eddy of Shady Shores, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda and Samantha Pfeiffer, Andrea and James Vinyard, Mark, Megan Thiry and Caitlin Miller, Jason DeLoach, Michael Harris, Kami Harris, Lacey Pacheco, Kenzie Ellis and Betsy Ellis; three-great grandchildren Kassi Coley DeLoach, Hunter Harris and Austin Pfeiffer and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She died Feb. 11, 1994, in McAlester. He was the groundskeeper at the Ammunition Depot near McAlester. He later moved to Ada. Mr. Miller served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was honorably discharged July 27, 1943 at a Private. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Baptist. He married Rachel Burch Sept. 28, 1935. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Disabled Americans Veterans. Military honors will be provided by the Chickasaw Honor Guard. Mr. Horton was a lifelong resident of the Ada area and was affiliated with the Campground Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Loretta Nelson. He was born Sept. 28, 1932, at Maxwell to Dewey and Nannie Hudson Cox. He married Betty Sue Clouse Aug. 15, 1953, at Ada. He was a trucking supervisor for Martin- Marietta in Albuquerque, N.M., later known as Hydro- Conduit, retiring after 32 years of service. While living in Ada, he was employed with Thomas Concrete. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Nannie Cox. Charles Watson officiating. Mrs. Ratner died Jan. 7, 2005. She was born Oct. 28, 1915, at Guthrie to Roy Leon and Viola McComb Drew. She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1932. She worked for many years as the seamstress for E.A. Watson Upholstery in Lawton. She also served as the assistant director of Pleasant Valley Senior Center. She volunteered for 19 years at the Social Security Administration, assisting seniors with Medicare forms. Mrs. Ratner served in the first Oklahoma Silver Haired Legislature in 1981. She was active in Church Women United and Grace United Methodist Church. She served on the board of the Cameron Campus Ministry for 25 years and was declared one of its saints. She was honored by the State Division on Aging as the “Outstanding Volunteer in Oklahoma.” She married E.A. “Al” Watson at Marysville, Calif. He preceded her in death. She married Samuel Ratner. He also preceded her in death. She had lived in Lawton since 1949. Survivors include a sister, Margaret Reppond, Sherman, Texas; two sons, the Rev. Charles E. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bessie M. Smith, and two brothers, Ollie L. Smith and Norb Smith. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Mature Fellowship Group, serving as president for two years. Mr. Archer served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and honorably discharged as a master sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was born July 9, 1932, in Ada, Okla., to Floyd Cecil and Doreen Harper Evans . She attended Ada High School and lived in Ada until after the Korean War before moving to Artesia, Calif., with her husband Paul and newborn daughter, Lisa. There, she worked as a telephone operator, waitress and a retail store manager. In the late 1970s, she returned to Ada and was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She moved back to southern California for a short time. She then settled in Mesquite, Texas where she lived for the past 24 years. She obtained a G.E.D at the age of 50 and became a health food store manager for General Nutrition Center. In later years, she was named one of the top five managers in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for four straight years prior to her eventual retirement. On July 26 1950, she eloped with Paul Harold Stanley (also of Ada) in Sherman, Texas. He preceded her in death. Twins, Paul Jr. and Paula Stanley, also precede her in death. He was a baseball player with the American Legion, Holdenville and Ada teams. For more than 40 years, he owned a ranch southwest of Ada, where he raised cattle and quarter and paint horses. He was a charter member of the Ada Area Roundup Club. He and his horse, “Rum Dum” won many high point awards in the “Over 40” play day events. He also won points in the Oklahoma State Roundup Club Association state finals. Pat participated in play day events and won his last award at the age of 76. He married Ethel Marie “Sue” Burns Nov. 18, 1944. She died July 25, 1979. He married Kay Current Balthrop Nov. 21, 1980, in Ada. Mr. Callaway owned and operated Pat’s Dairy Princess in the 1960s. He later owned and operated Callaway Ranch, a trucking business hauling grain and rock. After retirement, he worked as a custodian at Latta School until he became ill. Mr. Callaway was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church since 1967. He taught Sunday school classes for many years, sang in the choir, and was active in outreach programs. After his retirement, he worked with P.A.W.S., Green Thumb and also with the Probation and Parole Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Francis, served two terms as union president for United Rubber Workers Union at General Tire and J.P. Emco, one term as vice president, three terms on the executive board and one term as a trustee. He served in the U.S. Air Force with the 82nd Airborne Troopers from 1946 until 1950. Survivors include a son, Michael Harris and wife Beverly, Francis; two daughters, Kathy Sawyer and husband Gary, Oklahoma City, and Melinda Giesbrecht, Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Ann Baker, Aurora, Mo., Rosalyn James, Shell Knob, Mo., and Carolyn Sue Williams, Marion, Kan.; and best friend, Denalda Schultz, Ada. He served in the 419th Military Police Escort Guard Company. He was an active member of Colbert Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and Training Union Director at the church. He married Lewanna Cornelius April 17, 1942. She attended school at Pontotoc and graduated from Stonewall High School. She married Van Harlin April 10, 1937. He died Sept. 15, 1994, in Ada.
