She was born May 16, 1920, at Wetumka, Okla., to Everett and Effie Garrison. She married James Lonnie Moon July 11, 1940. She spent her life as a homemaker at Hobbs, N.M., and Sasakwa, Okla. She lived at Apple Valley, for the last year. Mrs. Moon drove a school bus at Hobbs for many years. She also barbered at both the Sanger Street and Triangle Barbershops. Along with her husband, Lonnie, she was a custodian for Byng Schools, Byng, Okla., for five years. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie; her parents, Effie and Everett Garrison; two sisters, Wilma Fine and Edna Waunelda Roundtree; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Hastings. Survivors include a son, James R. He was born Feb. 10, 1913, at Stratford, to Jim and Mary Willis Postoak. He attended a Catholic school. Mr. Postoak married Ruby Smith Aug. 21, 1943. She died June 18, 1989, at Oklahoma City. Mr. Postoak was a construction laborer and a Catholic. She married Gerald Robertson Dec. 27, 1971, at Ada. Mrs. Robertson was a high school math teacher for 33 years in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. She was a Baptist. She lived all her life in Stratford and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Ragan was reared and educated in the Tupelo community. She worked at Brockway, a glass company in Ada, and was a receptionist for Weight Watchers Group at Claremore. She lived in Moscow, Kan. and Ulysses, Kan., before moving to Claremore. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses and Claremore. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She married Kenneth Ragan Feb. 14, 1959. Survivors include her husband Kenneth of their home in Claremore; her daughters Shelley Miller and husband Scott, Thornton, Colo., and Sharla Winger, Wichita, Kan.; her grandchildren Shana and Shane Miller, both of Thornton, and Madison and Mason Winger, both of Wichita; her siblings, Jodie Atwell, Tulsa, Claira Anderson and Nancy Smith, both of Tupelo, Mary Felkins, Ada, Roy Lee Bullard, Mission, Texas, R.C. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The U. S. Army Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Mr. Alford died Aug. 6, 2006, at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1921, at Stratford, to Earnest Eugene "Gene" and Millie Mae Johnson Alford. He attended school at Pecan Grove and graduated from Latta High School in 1941. He received a bachelor of general studies degree from East Central University in 2005. He married Kathleen Hisaw Sept. 27, 1941, at Coalgate. Mr. Alford served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served with three infantry divisions in the European Theater of World War II. He received three Bronze Stars, two combat infantry awards, three Army commendation ribbons and an award from the French army for service rendered. He was discharged as a first sergeant of a heavy weapons company. After World War II, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in a unit of the 45th Infantry Division. >From 1947-1959, he was employed with the Oklahoma Military Department. He served with the 45th Infantry Division in Korea from 1950-1952 as a regimental adjutant. He retired from the armed services in 1963 as a chief warrant officer W-4. Mr. Alford was a longtime businessman in the Ada community. He owned and operated several businesses including Alford Real Estate and Auction Service. He was the former owner of McSwain Music Theatre where he restored the building to its original status and produced a family musical show. Mr. Alford was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and was a former Sunday school director. He was a past member of the Oklahoma State Auctioneers Association, where he served as president and director. He was the past president of the Ada Board of Realtors, member of the Pontotoc County Area Metropolitan Planning and Zoning Commission and a member of the county board of adjustments. He served two terms on the Oklahoma Association of Realtors Board of Directors. He was a member of the Ada Rotary Club, he received the Paul Harris Fellow, served as president, secretary, and director, and he was recognized for attending meetings for 41 years without absence. He served as a member of the Community Chest, Salvation Army, Camp Fire Council, Oklahoma Better Roads and Highways Committee and the Ada Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Mr. Alford served on the City Council of Ada for eight years and also served as mayor. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, "Dunnie" Alford, in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Alford, of the home; two daughters, Paula Wilfong and husband John and Pamla Armstrong and husband Greg, all of Ada; three sisters, Wava Brunkow, Lawton, Jo Stillwell and husband "Tex" and Joye West and husband Jack, all of Ada; sister-in-law, Tootles Alford, Ada; four grandchildren, Anslea Steele and husband Eric, Edmond, Erin Wilfong and wife Mackenzie, Kansas City, Mo., Jeremy Armstrong, Ada, and Shane Armstrong and wife Megan, Overland Park, Kans.; two great-grandchildren, Braden Paul Steele and Abby Kate Steele, both of Edmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. He attended school in Chickasha and attended Southwestern Bible College in Enid. He was ordained as a minister in the Assembly of God Church in 1941, retiring after 60 years. The Rev. Jolliff and his family moved to Ada in 1980 from Purcell to pastor at the Byng Assembly of God Church. He last pastored at Owl Creek Community Church. He was also a pastor at churches in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Idaho, Arizona and Kansas. He was a member of the Byng Assembly of God Church. He married Laura Martin Sept. 21, 1935, in Chickasha. Survivors include his wife, Laura Jolliff, of the home; one daughter, Wanda Stogner, Prescott, Ariz.; three sons, Levere A. Jolliff, Nashville, Tenn., Gerald M. Jolliff, Byng, and Ronald G. He attended school at Clarita, Olney, Murray State University and Oklahoma State University, where he obtained a degree in agronomy and minored in engineering. He worked for sixteen years for Koch Specialty Services, Inc., retiring in Decembere, 2004. He also worked for Parsons, Inc. for nineteen years. During his service with these companies he traveled to numerous countries and states doing speccial assignments for them. Mr. Hartsfield was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at California and a Sunday school teacher at Baton Rouge, La. He was a thirty-second Mason, a member of the Elks Club and a member in the United States Marines. He was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Hartsfield; and a nephew, Lance Hartsfield. Mr. Crow died Aug. 10, 2006, at a Stonewall nursing center. He was born April 5, 1922, at Frisco, Okla., to Robert Lee Crow and Myrtle "Roxie" Young Crow. He married Juanita Wilma Edwards June 22, 1946, at Atoka. She died in October 1986. Mr. Crow attended Stonewall Schools and lived in this area his entire life. He entered the United States Army Sept. 22, 1942, serving as a military policeman, and was attached to the 9th Air Force as a sergeant during World War II. He served overseas at England, France, Belgium and Germany. He was in campaigns at Normandy, Rhineland and Northern France. He was awarded the World War II medal, Master Marksman medal, Good Conduct medal, American Campaign medal, EAME Service ribbon, three Bronze Stars, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0213, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 11194. He was a construction rigger foreman for Trend Construction, Oklahoma City, and was a member of the Nazarene Church. Ms. Barcenas also helped in the family business doing all the accounting. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Torres Barcenas; and four uncles, Jose Barcenas, Guadalup Torres, Antonio Torres and Rojelia Torres. Hunt, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, were earlier this month at French Mortuary, Albuquerque. He died Aug. 12, 2006. Mr. Hunt was born April 13, 1930 in Oakman, Okla., the fourth of five children. He grew up in the Vanoss, Okla., area and attended all 12 years of school in Vanoss, graduating from high school in 1948. Mr. Hunt attended East Central University in Ada, Okla. graduating in 1952. His first teaching job was at Kallihoma Indian Day School where he taught all eight grades for three years. He then went to work for DX Sunray Oil Co. in Tulsa, Okla. Mr. Hunt was also agency manager for Southland Life Insurance Co. in El Paso, Texas, and Albuquerue. In 1970, he decided to go back into teaching, where he taught elementary and middle school, retiring from Albuquerque Public Schools in 1992. He was instrumental in starting Homework Hotline and worked with the program for several years. Mr. Hunt was an elder in the Community of Christ Church.
