George Carson officiating. Mrs. Day died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at her home. She was born March 6, 1958 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Maurice Austin and Thelma Jones Loftis Taylor. She attended school at Ada and graduated from Ada High School. She graduated with honors from East Central University Nursing program. She lived in this area most of her life. She married David Lynn Day. He preceded her in death in 1998. She later married Richard Earl Hisel. He preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Day was a Cardiac Intensive Care Specialist and Research Nurse at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Oklahoma City for nearly 10 years. She was a member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Ada. Survivors include a daughter, Ashleigh Cole Day, Tulsa; a son, Dylan Taylor Day, Ada; a step-father, Bob J. Taylor, Ada; sister, Cathy Loftis Hennessey, Ada; a step-brother, David Lynn Taylor, Ada; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice A. Mr. Smith died June 30, 2006, at Shreveport, La. He was born Feb. 2, 1943, at Ada, to William James and Thelma Leola Killion Smith. He lived in this area all his life and attended Ada schools. He received a BA degree in sociology at East Central State University. He retired as assistant chief of police in 1988 from the Ada Police Department after 23 years, and retired as chief of police from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2005, after 16 years. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church. He married Sandi Blake Dec. 30, 1968, at Ada. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Lisa Smith. Survivors include his wife, Sandi, of the home; a daughter, Breanna, of the home; two sons, James Smith Jr. and wife Lana, Washington, D. Price, 83, Missouri City, formerly of Ada, Okla., are 11 a.m. Saturday at Rosedale Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Murphy officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Heritage Baptist Church, Missouri City. Price died July 4, 2006, at a Missouri City hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1922, at Ada, to Clyde V. and Lula M. McDaniel Price. He graduated from Ada High School and attended the University of Maryland. He married Mary Lee Harris Aug. 14, 1945. She died Nov. 16, 2000. He retired from the Air Force after serving for more than 32 years. He first entered the military in 1940 when he enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard. In 1942, he entered pilot training and graduated as a pilot and aircraft observer in 1943. For the next two years, he was a P-51 fighter pilot flying over 76 combat missions in the European Theater. After the war, he stayed on in the Air Force, becoming a civil engineer, which included several overseas assignments. In January, 1956, Price became the first Base Civil Engineer at the USAF Academy, assisting in the functional design of plant systems and structures in addition to organization of the 846 man force needed to maintain the academy. His career also took him to assignments at McCord Air Force Base, Tacoma, Wash., Headquarters Air CENT NATO, Fontainebleu, France, as Missile Site Construction Engineer, and he was also assigned as liaison to the Pentagon and USAF Civil Engineer at Ton Son Nuit, Vietnam. He retired as base civil engineer at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City in 1973. After a few years overseeing operations at Bald Head Island, N.C., he became General Manager of Sienna Plantation, Texas from 1975-1994. He retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Missouri City. Survivors include a daughter, Biji Nesossi and husband Geof, Sugar Land, Texas; a son, Jack Price Jr., Sugar Land; and two grandsons, Dax Nessosi and Jordan Nessosi. Army during World War II. He served for three years in the European Theatre. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bobbye Eugenia; brothers, Walter Minor, Virgil Minor, George Minor, Elmo Minor and Alvin Minor; and two sisters, Cora Starkey and Ora Crowell. They lived in the Oklahoma City area for several years where she was employed as a school and church secretary. The Garrison family moved to Norman in 1968. While her husband was employed at the University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Garrison was secretary and office manager for John M. Campbell and Co., until her retirement. Upon her husband's death in 2000, Mrs. Garrison remained at their home in Norman, until health problems required a move to assisted living in Norman, and, earlier this year, to a Tulsa retirement center. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob; her husband, Joe; and a son, Jeff. Survivors include two sons, Joe Garrison, Tulsa, and John Garrison and wife Sharon, Ponca City; and four grandchildren, Jacquelynn and Phillip, Tulsa, and Hannah and Sam, Ponca City. Mr. Young graduated from Oklahoma State University, served in the Navy and was a heavy equipment operator for more than 45 years. He owned Young Construction Company in Ada before moving to California. He was a member of the Corona Norco Bible Fellowship and served as a deacon. She was born Oct. 16, 1929, at Blackwell, Okla., to Percy and Thelma Dittemmore. She lived in Ada, Okla., Oklahoma City and Pittsburgh, Pa., before moving to Zelienople. She was a faculty member in pediatric nursing and nursing education at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. She began her nursing career at the Oklahoma Children's Hospital for two years after receiving her degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing. Her main focus there was caring for children and adults with severe poliomyelitis during the severe epidemics. She completed her bachelor's degree at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Nashville, Tenn. She was on active duty in the Army Nurse Corps for three years and attained the rank of captain while serving in the reserve with the 339th Hospital Unit. While on active duty, Dittemore was a member of the women's swimming team for Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. She won several medals at the B.A.M.C., the 5th Army and the All Army meets. Dittemore received her masters and doctorate degrees at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and taught pediatric nursing and nursing education there for more than 20 years. She also taught at the Duquesne University School of Nursing for more than ten years in both the undergraduate and graduate level programs. He was born Feb. 6, 1921, at Colbert, to Ross Reuben Badgett Sr. and Maude Findley Badgett. He grew up at Hickory, Okla., and graduated from Hickory High School. He attended Murray State, Tishomingo, then transferred to East Central State College and graduated with an industrial arts degree. He served in the U. S. Navy and was sent to Notre Dame where he graduated from Mid Shipmen's school as an ensign. He was assigned to Raleigh, N.C., to serve on an LCI #573. He married Leona Goss Sept. 25, 1943. She died Feb. 28, 2003. In January, 1945, he received his lieutenant junior grade bars. After he was discharged from the Navy, he and Leona moved to Konawa where he taught industrial arts, served as high school principal, and coached basketball. Mr. Badgett received his master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. Later, he was a salesman for Great Southern Life Insurance Company. Badgett moved his family to Ada, where he and his family attended the First Baptist Church. He served as deacon as well as several other areas of ministry, and was active in the Gideons International. Mr. Badgett was also known as "the Bee Man." He retired from insurance sales and went back to teaching industrial arts at Tupelo High School. He and his wife moved to Lindsay in 1999 and joined the First Baptist Church, where he was active in teaching a men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Badget moved to Mustang in 2005 and became a member of the Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters; and a brother. Survivors include three sons, Ross R. He was born Oct. 28, 1922, at Wewoka, to Shelly Lloyd and Josie Dovie Mullins Keefer. He attended grade school at Wewoka and graduated from Butner High School, Butner, Okla. After graduation he went to NYA school at Shawnee. His first job was with New Departure at Bristol, Conn. He left that job to enlist in the U. S. Coast Guard during WWII. While waiting to be called to active duty he worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot at McAlester. He left for active duty with the Coast Guard March 23, 1943. During his tour of duty he was stationed at Owensboro, Ky., Paducah, Ky., and St. Louis, Mo. He received a medical discharge from the Coast Guard Oct. 28, 1944. He returned to Seminole, and was employed by Republic Supply for six years and PGAC Atlas Corp. for three years. He was active with the Seminole First Baptist Church, held many offices, was Commander of the American Legion at Seminole for two years, and was a charter member of the Jaycees. He moved his family to Ada In May 1953, where he and his wife started Keefer Supply Company and were in business for more than 50 years. He was a member of Ada First Baptist Church, Ada Masonic Lodge #119 AF & AM, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, McAlester, charter member of Diamond K Kiwanis Club, Mature Fellowship and Prime Timers. He was a pack leader for the Cub Scouts and helped sponsor and coach Little League Baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Josie Keefer.
