Paid Obituary JACKSON WILLIAM COOK October 26, 2006 - February 12, 2007 Jackson William Cook, infant son of Kate and C.W. Cook, of Norman, was gladly received into the world on October 26, 2006 and, surrounded by his family, gently slipped from this life on February 12, 2007. Known from before his birth and given to his family as gift, Jackson has returned to God in whom all little ones are made whole and at peace. Jackson's short life was one of struggle as he battled to overcome difficulties present at his birth. Yet, it was also one in which loving care and hope were extended daily by his parents, his grandmothers and a host of nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists and physicians associated with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Children's Hospital of Oklahoma City. Brief though his life was, Jackson evoked compassion and courage. He touched many, even from a distance, and the love which embraced him remains. He and his family were regularly remembered by friends from First Christian Church of Norman, Oklahoma, Vinita Church of Christ of Sulphur, Oklahoma, First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, St. Philip's Episcopal Church of Frisco, Texas and friends and colleagues at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and the Noble Public School System. For the undergirding of prayer and ongoing support, Jackson's family is grateful. Jackson is survived by his parents Dr. Kate and C.W. Cook of Norman, Oklahoma, his maternal grandparents Sibyl and Dr. William Galbraith of Fort Smith, Arkansas, his paternal grandparents, Linda and Gary Day of Ada, Oklahoma and Carl Cook of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Great grandparents are: Imogene Stufflebean and the late Jack Butts of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Blu and Bob Kingston of McQueeney, Texas and the late Will Fred and Mary Jo Galbraith of Elgin, Texas. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at 5:00 PM at Swan Hill Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial gifts may be made to First Christian Church of Norman or the OU Foundation for the Jackson William Cook Memorial Endowed Visiting Professorship c/o The Department of Pediatrics, 940 NE 13th St., Room 2B 2308, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
