Mr. Anderson died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at a Shawnee hospital. He was born May 14, 1928, in Ada to Morris Anderson Sr. and Elizabeth Colbert Anderson. He attended Napier schools and graduated from Napier High School. Mr. Anderson worked for Service Chevrolet in Ada for many years, and later moved to Norman and was employed with Thunderbird Imports for more than 30 years. He was a member of Philemon Baptist Church. He married Jackie Anderson in Norman. She died Aug. 19, 2002, in Norman. Survivors include two sons, Pat Richardson and wife Monet Lynne, Ada, and Maurice Lewis and wife Cynthia, Tecumseh; a special grandson, Trey Vion Lewis; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Anderson, Ada. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1958. She moved to Ada in 1965 from Fayetteville, Ark. She graduated from the LPN Byng Nursing School in 1978 and also attended East Central University. Mrs. Lewis was an licensed practical nurse at Valley View Regional Hospital, Woodland Hills Nursing Home, and McCall’s Chapel, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She married Dub Lewis Dec. 6, 1979, in McKinney, Texas. Survivors include her husband, W. She graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1968 and received her bachelor’s degree in 1972, master’s degree in 1975, and doctorate of education in 1977 from East Texas State University. She was a professor emerita of elementary education at East Central University in Ada, where she taught from 1978 until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ada. She moved to Texas in 2000. She was a charter member and president of Pontotoc County Reading Council, member of the Oklahoma Higher Education Reading Council, coordinator of graduate reading programs at ECU; and member of the State Department Accreditation Committee. She was among the outstanding Elementary Teachers in America in 1974 and received the Oklahoma Reading Council’s Outstanding Educational Research Award in 1982. In 1994, she was honored by National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Oklahoma Gov. David Walters for her commitment in education, advocacy for people with disabilities and personal and professional accomplishments while living with MS. She was a longtime member at Southwest Church of Christ where she and her husband were active in church visitation group and also Meals on Wheels. She married Cline S. Fowler Jr. in 1945. They lived and worked together in Ada as they built their accounting business. He died in 1966. She married Coleman R. Pennington Feb. 9, 1973. Survivors include her husband, Coleman R. He attended Madill High School and graduated in 1938. He also attended Hill's Business College. Mr. Rice married Billie Jean Robinson Feb. 24, 1946, in Clarita. He was a World War II veteran and retired from the Air Force as lieutenant colonel Oct. 1, 1962. After retirement he moved onto a farm in Clarita. Mr. Rice and his family later moved to Alaska and lived there from 1976 until 1988 when they moved back to Clarita. He was a member of the Clarita Methodist Church. Mr. Rice was drafted into the 120th medical regiment, 45th division of the Oklahoma National Guard Jan. 24, 1941, where he served until May 1942 when he was accepted for pilot training. He became a bomber pilot flying the B-24 Liberator. He was sent to combat in the South Pacific in November 1944 and flew 43 missions throughout the South Pacific. He received medals for The Philippine Liberation Campaign, The American Campaign, The American Defense, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, The Army of Occupation in the South Pacific, Philippine Liberation Medal and Service for Humane Action (Berlin Airlift). Mr. Rice flew the B-36, which is the largest plane the Air Force has ever had, for five years. When he retired he was flying the B-52, which is still being used in Iraq. She was active at the First Baptist Church in Ada, where she taught from nursery age to senior adult women in Sunday school, active in Baptist Women, W.M.U. and auxiliaries of the First Baptist Church of Ada, Banner Baptist Association, and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. She served as co-president of Hayes P.T.A., and served on the School Council for three years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She joined Valley View Regional Hospital Volunteers on Jan. 1, 1977, and retired Aug. 8, 2003. She held every office except treasurer. She served two two-year terms as president. When she retired she had accumulated 10,051 hours of volunteer service. She was Southeast Oklahoma Regional president for three years. Mrs. Seaton was active in the Ada Garden Club and belonged to the Azalea Unit. She married George Seaton on July 12, 1946, at Purcell.
