Jackson, 90, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday at Rosedale Cemetery, the Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at a local nursing home. He was born March 29, 1917, in the Rocky Chapel community near Ada to William Edward and Ila A. White Jackson. He lived in this area most of his life and graduated from Ada High School. He married Gertrude Penrod Feb. 15, 1942, at Yuma, Ariz. She died Oct. 29, 1995. Mr. Jackson was the first projectionist at McSwain Theatre. He retired as the maintenance engineer at the Aldridge Hotel, and later was employed with the East Central University's heating and air conditioning department, retiring in 1979 after 15 years of service. Mr. Jackson was a member of Ada Planning and Zoning Commission, retiring in 2006 after 29 years of service. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Cora Jackson, Ada; two sisters- in-law, Beatrice Quick, Ada, and Dorothy Beighle, Mustang; one brother-in-law, Robert Penrod, Roff; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ila Shoemaker; and a son, William Glenn Jackson.
