Dan Rider will officiate. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Mr. Walden died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at a Sulphur Veteran's Center. He was born September 3, 1923 at Paragould, Arkansas to Harry and Lucy Jane Blalock Walden. He attended Oak Grove, Arkansas schools and graduated from Oak Grove High School. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950. He married Bessie Jane Miller on June 4, 1949. Mr. Walden was a Civil Engineer with The Sverdrup Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri designing bridges. Mr. Walden was a member of the First and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Missouri. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club in Springfield, Missouri, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the University of Arkansas Alumni Association, and he served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 8th Army Infantry in the Pacific Theatre. He and his wife moved to this area 3 years ago from Springfield. Survivors include his wife, Jane Walden, of the home; two sons, Dennis Walden and wife Denise, Ada, and Alan Walden and wife Pat, Nixa, Missouri; a daughter, Anita King and husband Dave, Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Ralph Walden and wife Edie, Augusta, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Adam Walden, Jacob Walden, Laura King, and Mike King. He was born January 1, 1923 at Seymour, Texas to James Tillman Heard and Ruby Walling. He was a rancher and a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Stacey Heard, Hinton; one brother, Ivan Heard, Del City; two sisters, Mae Mullins, Konawa and Polly Hill, Ada; one grandchild; and two great grandchildren. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, Father Patrick Bright will officiate. Committal services will be at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. Dr. Hudson died Friday, May 25, 2007 at his home. He was born February 1, 1963 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Edwin Gene and Marlene Gay Higdon Hudson. He attended Zachary Taylor and Nichols Hills Elementary schools and graduated from Casady School in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma City University and a Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry. Dr. Hudson married Jane Collins. He began his dental career opening Stroud Family Dentistry in Stroud, Oklahoma until the building was destroyed by fire. In 2005, he was hired to help establish the first Small Smiles Dental Clinic as Lead Dentist helping provide dental services to underprivileged children. He was known as “Dr. Mike” and believed that dentistry didn't have to hurt. Recently, Dr. Hudson began the process of once again realizing his dream of opening his own dental practice, Edmond Smiles, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Survivors include his father, Gene Hudson, Ada; two brothers, Stephen Hudson and wife Joanne, Winnetka, Illinois, and Christopher Hudson, Los Angeles, California; a sister, Elizabeth Earnshaw and husband Richard, Overland Park, Kansas; former wife and good friend, Jane Collins, Oklahoma City; nephews and nieces, Forrest and Amelia Hudson, Piper, Cameron, Christopher and Edie Earnshaw, Catherine and Erin Roach, and Cameron, Carly and Caroline Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church. She married Willie Ruben Roach on November 10, 1934. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, joining the church on July 15, 1943, and served as church secretary from July 25, 1954, until December 2006. She also served in many other areas of the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church. She married James Earl Franks on March 6, 1945, at Oil Center. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1992, in Ada. He was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Gotebo, Okla., to John Harms and Myrtle Elizabeth Oltermann. He graduated from Ada High School in Ada, Okla., in 1945. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1950 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. After returning from Korea he taught Spanish in the U.S. Naval Academy. Upon entering the private sector Mr. Oltermann traveled around the world designing onshore and offshore oil rigs. In later years Mr. Oltermann was a private engineering consultant in the oil industry. He married Emma Lee Crider on July 1, 1950 in Ada, Okla. Mr. Oltermann was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring, Texas, and transferred membership to Trinity Lutheran Church of Amarillo in 2004 where he had lived for three and one-half years. He served in the Asiatic -Pacific Theater, where he received the Asiatic/Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. His traditional titles in professional archery are numerous with his most recent accomplishments being ASA Shooter of the Year in 2005 and the Oklahoma Triple Crown Shooter of the Year, a State Champion ASA Shooter, T.H.E. 3-D 1st Place State Champion and T.H.E. 3-D second place World Championship, all in 2006. She and her husband lived west of Latta where they had a dairy farm, Greenhill Jersery Farm, and sold registered Jersey cows. She was a charter member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 75 plus years. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and led the children's music. She was also active in local, state and district Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Brantley was a charter member of the Latta Extension Homemakers for 59 years. She served her county as president and various offices throughout the years. She was district representative on the state level, served four years as chaplain and served on all “state” committees. She was also a member of the OSU Ambassadors. Mrs. Brantley was active in 4-H, in 1975 she was chosen as a State 4-H Honorary Member. In 1976, KFOR television and WKY radio honored Wesley and Sylvia as second runner up as the “Farm Family of the Year in Oklahoma.” In 1946, she helped to start Blue Cross in her community. In 1982, she along with Ada News took the first “Meals on Wheels” and worked 15 years in this organization. Mrs. Brantley served two years as president of Tanti Study Club and was chairman of the Allied Arts. She was a member of the Aldridge fellowship for 25 years, Prime Timers, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and served as a volunteer at Valley View Hospital for 30 years. She has written several articles on farm life, which have been published. She worked in the Pontotoc County Fairs and has won many honors for her divinity candy. She attended Fairview and Valley View schools and graduated from Davis High School. She lettered in basketball and baseball and won several medals in sports. She won a scholarship to East Central University in basketball. She played the tuba in the high school band and sang in the girl’s sextet and glee club. For four years, she was a high school cheerleader and was involved in oratorical contests. Mrs. Greenwood was active in the Chickasaw community, where she served in the Legislature for the Chickasaw Tribe for seven years. She served as a teacher’s aide in the McLish school system and was honored in 2001 by the McLish Alumni Association at the biennial reunion. She was active in the Booster Club at Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur for her granddaughter, Rebecca. For many years, Lorene was active in the Hickory Hill Baptist Church. She was saved at the age of 13 during the week of Vacation Bible School at Sandy Baptist Church between Sulphur and Davis. She was baptized the old-fashioned way – in a creek. She married Buster Keaton Greenwood Sept. 11, 1947. He spent his early life in Rosedale and moved to Stratford where he spent the next 70 years. He attended elementary school at Rosedale and graduated high school from Vanoss. Mr. Miser worked in concrete construction and later retired from Garvin County. He was a major peach grower in the Stratford area for many years. In 2003 at the Vanoss Alumni Baseball Game, he was recognized as being the last living member of the 1939-1940 State Championship Team. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Stratford Masonic Lodge. The Grand Masonic Lodge of Oklahoma recognized him in 2003 for being a member for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John D. Miser in 1991; and a brother, Fritz Miser, in 1977.
