Surnames: Tate Potes Originally posted at: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.oklahoma.counties.murray/1937/mb.ashx Services William Albert "Bill" Tate, 45, Ada, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Smith-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Ada with Rev. Bob Graves officiating. Interment was in Five Mile Cemetery. Mr. Tate died Friday, Jan. 19 at his residence in Ada at the age of 45. He was born June 17, 1961 in Brentwood, Calif. to Rev. James Edward Tate and Betty Ann Potes Young. He married Judy Tatum in Gainesville, Texas. Mr. Tate attended Temple High School. He moved to Ada in 1986 from Duncan. He had also lived in Sulphur for a time. He worked as a carpenter and painter for many years. He was a Protestant by faith. Surviving are his wife, Judy Tatum Tate, Ada; three sons, Steven, Kevin, and Phillip, all of Ada; two daughters, Malisha and Amanda, both of Ada; his mother, Betty Ann Potes Young, Ada; two brothers, James Tate of California and Charles V. Manous, Ada; eight sisters, Sharon Biffle, Duncan, Becky, Jines, Calif., Debra, Lafrancios, Calif., Pat Hague, Duncan, Debbie Batterton, Sulphur, Lena Ervin and Lisa Alexander, Ada and Sheryl Tate, Tacoma, Wash.; seven granddaughters and two grandsons; one aunt, Edith Houston; four uncles, Herbert Floyd Potes, Burt Potes, Donald Tate, Arthur Tate; 26 nieces and nephews and 28 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. James Edward Tate; two grandfathers, Raymond Tate, Louisville, Ky. and Herbert Potes, Dougherty; two grandmothers, Lena Williams Tate, Louisville, Ky. and Ruby Elizabeth Brown Potes, Dougherty and an uncle, Richmond Wyatt.
